Pop (Michael Jackson, Utada, Michelle Branch)
Rock (Franz Ferdinand, The Strokes, The Mars Volta, Green Day)
Japanese pop (dream, ZONE, Do As Infinity, tonnes more)
Japanese rock (Dir en grey, Gazette, Duel Jewel)
Korean pop (Moon Hee Jun, Se7en, the TRAX)
Chinese pop (Jay Chou, S.H.E., Twins, Jolin)

Oh, you know, Indie (not britpop or any of that other shite that is mysteriously labelled as indie, mostly by utter morons, though -___-), some punk, funk (like Funkadelic), new wave, obscure japanese rock (not the popular ones! that would be way too uncool!), basically anything that obnoxious metal cunts consider themselves too cool to listen to. =)

I'm sorry, but Punk was far superior in the 80's with the DK's, The Clash and The Buzzcocks. Sum 41 aren't punk, they're shit.
Anyway:
Dance-Rock - The Rapture.
Alternative Rock - Bloc Party/Franz Ferdinand.
Punk - DK's/The Clash and the only modern punk band I like, The Hives.
Progressive/Experimental Rock - The Mars Volta.
Metal - Guns and Roses/some Metallica and Iron Maiden.

I hate all forms of Emo (MCR), Screamo (The Dismembers, a local band) , Heavy "Nu" Metal (Slipknot), Rap, R n B and Hip Hop, Modern "Punk Rock" (Green Day, Sum 41, Noise next door). FAGGOTS.

I don't really know how to label myself. I like different things because I don't want to limit myself to one genre. I listen to pop but I can't just listen to it. I like some techno. I listen to AC/DC, the cure, Nirvana. There are also these groups... they play cello with a drummer. I don't know how to label them. They include Apocalyptica, Murder by Death and Break of Reality. I listen to some jazz, swing classical and disco. I find jpop really interesting. Whenever a song has lyrics, I'm in favor of the lyrics not being in English.

Hard Rock: Deep Purple, Rainbow, Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, AC/DC
Heavy Metal: DIO, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, W.A.S.P., Metallica, Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force, Anthrax and Dokken.
I like some Power Metal like Helloween but that's as fast as I like it. I don't like singers who think they're badass, cool and metal by grunting and growling like they're being buttraped.

I am mostly into Progressive Rock. I can't stand barely anything on the radio or any of that post 90s rock stuff... And I'm not an 80s music fan either. I like a little bit of progressive metal as well, but I'm more for the more jazzier and classical styled prog. Plus, I can't live without the mini-moog, hammmond organ, and other keyboard based sounds. But I also listen to other bands as well, but simply not as much because most casual styled music just plain out bores me, I need creativity and good composure.

Basically the bands I listen to are: Glass Hammer, Yes, King Crimson, Genesis, ELP, Dream Theater, Rush, Jethro Tull, Opeth, Chris Squire, Bill Bruford, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, etc.
