Does anybody like them? I personally think they're great, I just got the chance to listen to the entire Elephant CD for the first time in a really long time and fell in love with it all over again.

No. Get a bass player already!

Besides, they lied to the public. They said that they were bro and sis when they were really ex husband and wife. what was up with that shit?

Well I was talking about the music. :(

Own Elephant, good album, some of the songs get annoying while I absolutely love others on that album. Was actually listening to that album on the way home from the gym today, but it's coming out of my cd player the next time I'm in my car now that I bought that Cream greatest hits cd.

Didn't know about them being ex husband and wife and can't quite figure out the advantage to calling themselves brother and sister, quite fucked up, but I still like the music.

I don't see why they have to have a bass player.

I'm not a huge fan, don't own any CDs, but they have a bunch of cool songs. I think they're good. I couldn't really care less about them lying about being brother and sister. Plenty of artists try to build up different personas and make up stories about their history.

Why not have a bass player? It just sounds better, ya know. And it's not like they don't have bass right?

It was a quote from freaky friday, btw.

I've never heard of The White Stripes. What kind of music do they play?

Love Elephant, it's the only album I have by them, it's one of my best.

I like the White Stripes, not my favorite band but I think they're pretty nifty.

Meh, they're okay I guess. They WOULD sound better with a bass player, it's true, but even if they had one, I don't see what the big deal about them is (and they aren't as original as people make them out to be either, they're just taking a formerly very niche genre into the mainstream.)

I DO own Elephant (it's actually my moms but I've "borrowed" it) and she also has White Blood Cell which I am yet to listen to.

Also Vix, on Winamp the White Stripe's genre is Lo-fi/Garage. :/

I like The White Stripes quite a bit. Having a bass player woudl kind of ruin the "image" they have or something, since its just the two of them as a brother/sister or exhusband/wife group. Anyway, I like their music.

FYI: t.A.T.u. HAD to act like that as was in their contract. Their manager pretty much owned them. They just wanted to make music and wanted to in any way possible and since they were comfortable enough with eachother to pretend to be lesbians they went for it. Their contract was insanely crazy. Whatever their manager wanted them to do they did it. He once told them to shave their eyebrows and they had to.

I go from liking them to disliking them, at all times thinking they're a bit overrated.

I love The White Stripes, namely due to their amazing videos. White Blood Cells is brilliant and so is Elephant, and I hear Jack White is looking to release some new stuff soon, which sounds good.
And I thought it was just a rumour Jack and Meg were married, like the rumour that Meg is dead and Jack replaced her with a robot.

Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground is one of the best videos I've ever seen.

I like a lot of thier songs but neither of thier albums are really listenable all the way though. Some of thier songs you just have to skip over... they just seem like dull filler. But around all that they have some really really nice songs.

I like their debut album the most, its so raw and Jacks voice is at it's best imo. But all 4 are amongst my favourite albums ever, i love the white stripes... unfortunately I'm too exhausted to go into detail right now aotherwise i would wax lyrical about them all day.

Eh, I think they're okay. They're definitely overrated, but "I don't know what to do with myself" is an awesome song.

I want to like them more then I do, because I thought they were so funny in Coffee and Ciggarettes.

Best rumour ever.

As regards to them, they're OK. I haven't really listened to enough of their stuff to give a fair comment.
