Yes! It really is! Some of my definitive favorite cues are "Ranzaar", "Shamazaar", and "Talanzaar". "Ranzaar", at 5:54 - 7:19 has one of the best culminating escalations I've ever heard, with great elegance. And "Shamazaar" is just so damn heavenly; 2:28 - 3:05 and 3:58 - 4:57 rank as my favorite moments, with the latter being one of the most beautiful sections in any orchestral cue I think may exist. "Talanzaar" is delightfully middle-eastern flavored, and I don't know if one of the words for it I'm looking for is 'noble', but to say the least it's chill-inducing.

The score is almost too great for the game :laugh: It may as well be more fitting to the upcoming Outcast: Second Contact

I'm a fan of this score for years (or better decades) and fell in love with it since the first listening. So I completely understand your fascination for this music! :D
It's still one of my all-time-favorites, including movie scores as well. I wish someone would give Lennie Moore the job to score one of the next Star Wars movies..!
He composed great pieces for the "The Old Repuplic" game - but "Outcast" is still his most outstanding work so far...

Oh wow, "decades"?! For me it's been through a couple months of my 16-year lifetime that I've really loved and enjoyed this score. :p But well enough either way - it's a masterpiece. And as you said, it's nearly a love at first sight (sound) :laugh:

Yeah, by the mention, I do love The Old Republic's score too. There's some continuation of those peaceful 'regal' moments from the Star Wars prequel scores in that one, like in "Glory, The Galactic Republic".

I think, given the opportunity, Moore would definitely ace it.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I can only assume that it's a mere side-effect of the remastering that was done. Otherwise, I haven't an idea what else it could be.

This is one of my most-listened to soundtracks of all time and I just realized I only have it in 128 kbits. That hurts, especially since I had the game back then.

Back in good old 1999 I installed the game, ran it and what my ears heard were some of the most amazing orchestral music I had ever heard, and I had heard a lot already, having already been a huge film music fan for many years.

This was easily on the same level as the best symphonic creations by the top composers of the day (Williams, Horner, Goldsmith, etc.)

To this day I'm totally stunned when I hear these wondrous cues play out. And the choral power is second to none.

Likely in my top 3 video game scores of all time.
