Shirou Sagisu is so much more interesting and amazing in the 80ts....

Super late on this, but you're definitely right about that. I tried listening to some of his modern anime OSTs and...well, they're not bad or anything but they just sound generic imo.

Shiro Sagisu nowadays is more of teh same. Same orchestra, same vibe, same ideas, same choir, same everything. I will risk and say that Sagisu is on Kaoro Wada mode, where he always reuses his own shit over and over and over multiplied by 100000000000000000 multiplied by millions of times in every soundtracks and very very very very rare something new comes up.
Sagisu was awesome in evangelion, and I greatly find myself listening the original evangelion soundtrack. New ones?... not really. again, nowadays, Berserk, bleach, evangelion and etc, all sound the same.
