They're pretty much useless, like the other items you get from the Battle Square (Dio's Autograph, Combat Diary, etc.)

squaresoft has been using useless items in role-playing games since the first final fantasy for NES. just something they like to add.

I think, Square likes to put senseless items into the games, because this makes the fans talk about it. And people replay these games again, because every time they play it they hope to find out a bit more about it. And little secrets make a game more interesting. ;)

No they are used for origami yuffie uses them to repair her orisuru if it gets damaged
