What do you think the most useless item is? I think that as loing as you have a lot of remedies, then all those "curing" items are kinda useless..

I think the most useless item is the tissue from ffvii.

potion cause they recover so little health

any key item that you never use, cause you have no use for it.

The tissues, Dio's Autograph from FF7 didn't do anything. Same with the Super Sweepers and the Masamune Replicas.

well you do use them (like if they are keys) but they only get used once. it's too bad you can't sell them

Most useless item huh? Well i'd have to say that the notorious tissue and the 1/35 soldier they both gave you no benifits.

The Dark Matter in FF9. You spend a ton of gil on it, and it only does 9999 dmg.I do more with Zidanes Trance.. =/

Um, the Dark Matter isn't useless. You do know you're meant to actually equip it to Garnet so she can learn the Odin Eidolion, do you? And even after she's learnt how to summon Odin, equipping the Dark Matter as an accessory to anyone still gives a nice stat boost.

Besides, the Treno Auction isn't the only place you can get a Dark Matter in FFIX, as you can steal another one from Ozma in Chocobo's Air Garden. But I digress.

As for truely useless items, most of the items you get from generic monsters in FFXI are pretty much just junk. Some are for quests or for Guild crafting, true, but generally, most of it is absolutely worthless and only clogs up your very limited inventory and Mog Safe space. Junk like smooth stones and Insect Wings.

And finally, Save the Queen in FFIX is a truely useless item, in that the only point it serves is you can have Amarant throw it at an enemy for an admitedly large amount of damage. But it's not worth it given the high cost to have Hades synth it in the first place, as you can't even equip it to anyone (only Beatrix can wield it, much like the Masamune in FFVII).

the tissue and the dios autograph are useless but i kind of like the super sweepers the 1/35 soldiers and the masamune replicas because in real life i like models of military stuff

Hero Drink is kinda worthless, limited invincibility is worthless if your characters are good. I mean, even against Omega, Its better to get hurt so you can get the 12sec Armageddon fist and Lion Heart more often. I didnt use it cuz i got confused and used it in a random battle...damn u goblins!!! Obviously the key items are worthless most of the time. Hell even the base items are useful in the backwards level in IX.

well, heres a couple tidbits on the ff7 items. (not including key items)

1/35 soldiers
Use: when you collect all 12, the mini battles at fort condor are free, which makes it easier to obtain the pheonix summon materia...far from useless
Sell Value: 1 gil

Potion
Use: cures 100 lost HP. This isnt that useless, specially in begining of the game.
Sell Value: 25 gil

Masamune
Use: None (?)
Sell Value: 25 gil

Super Sweepers
Use: None (?)
Sell Value: 1 gil

Tissues
Use: None (?)
Sell Value: 1 gil

The super sweeper i dont believe represents anything, and has a sell value of 1 gil. The masamune has a sell value of 25 gil, making it more useful than the tissue or supersweeper and so on...there of course is other items that have no use, and sell for only 1 gil.

Umm... the tissue isn't any more useful because it "represents" something, it stills does you, the player absolutely no good at all that's like saying the super sweeper isn't useless becasue it represents cleaning your room. =)

its actually a reactor cleaner...not a bedroom cleaner...(i believe...its been a while), and he never had any use for any kind of cleaner such as that...but, im jus sayin that the character still "uses" it, so it has some kind of story behind it...therefor more useful than most of the other things

hero drink aint bad. defeating trema in X-2 helped because i had alechemist and hero drink.

Maybe the topaz or those gems from FFIX i had millions of them
