Hello all... first offering here... hope it meets with approval (technical-wise). I've been suckin' down everyone else's... time to give back.

I've seen other versions of this here, (in mp3 mostly) but wanted to offer a FLAC version. This is the first recording from 1989... listened to it endlessly until Howard Shore's offerings. While the disc also includes a (unrelated) symphony by Jerry Bilik, I've only included the de Meij recordings (one of the Bilik tracks erred out anyway.)

Johan de Meij’s first symphony “The Lord of the Rings” is based on the trilogy of that name by J.R.R. Tolkien.
This book has fascinated many millions of readers since its publication in 1955.
The symphony consists of five separate movements, each illustrating a personage or an important episode from the book.
