If some people still doubt of Nadia Boulanger's input (she was the "master" teacher of Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, Lalo Schifrin, Laurence Rosenthal, Michel Legrand, Philip Glass and many others... ) on Quincy's writing, give an attentive listening to this incredibly audacious mixture of genuine jazz and XXth century contemporary music.

The Main Credits of the film is a pure "masterclass" in perfect cohesion between picture and music...

For those who haven't seen the Richard Brooks' movie: try to catch a blu-ray or a DVD... you won't regret it !!!

Link received, many thanks Gordy for this great Academy Awards nominated score - the menacing jazz really accentuates the action in the film (it made me want to watch the excellent black-and-white film later, which I got from a Blu-ray 1080p rip https://userscloud.com/w1oizf6fl5vv).
