Yes the Mideel Area is the best area to train (apart from the Crater or the Gelnika) b because the Headhunter's there that you fight their give you 80AP and 650EXP each.

The place that I leveled is the area near where Cloud was found by this town. (can't remember the name of the town though. Haven't played the game in a while.) But once you get the tiny bronco, go to that island. You won't be able to get onto the grassy area, but thats ok. Right when you get on that long island, try and find the armadillos and fight them. For some reason I am able to get all my limitbreaks for all my characters, my materia almost mastered that I use, and level up nicely there.

Yes I have gotten to Level 99 plenty of times, but it doesnt take such a long time in the Crater due to the Magic Pots.

I always use them. Its the easiest way to train. They give you 8000 EXP each and 1000 AP each, what could be easier. Plus in the same area you can fight the movers who give you 1200 AP, 0 EXP and 30000 GIL...yes you did read that right.

W item trick is the solution to your problme there.

It's not really that hard to get to Level 99. Use the W-Item materia trick and get yourself 99 Elixers. Have the EXP Plus materia equipped and encounter the pot enemies in the crater. Give them Elixers and you'll get a ton of experience. Plus, if you have weapons and/or armor equipped that have either double or triple growth, then it'll be pretty easy to master your materia as well. :)

The first time I played the game I was intent on getting high levels. I got all my characters to lvl 99 by Wutai (just after Rocket Town). There's no way I'd do that again, but I usually get to lvl 99 before Disc 3. I only fight the Movers for AP at the end.

is there any other way to beat the magic pots, besides a lot of elixirs? can i use white wind? they mentioned it in the E-skill thread.

Nope. You give them one elixer and then you destry them.
