I am on my second time playing ffx and i have just come across a man standing in the calm lands saying he will not move unless something nifty happens.
So you cannot get past him.
What do i have to do here?
His approximate co-ordination on the CL map is North North West.

umm i dont think u have to beat the chocobo trainer to get past the person. u get a sun sigil which u will use upgrade tidus's weapon. after a regular race even if u lose he shouldve moved to watch the race. correct me if im wrong.

I always thought you had to win all four chocobo races (just win, not at 0:0:0), and have the Celestial Mirror.

Well either way, you have to win all four races.
