Mostly I like Djawadi but this score brings the movie completely down .. I watched the movie yesterday and there are still the same 10 seconds soundtrack everywhere. It felt so unfinished.

the movie is ok .. but dont have style in it .. when I think about LOTR so warcraft sucks with 4 of 10 points

So funny & tragical at the same time... Djawadi signed for the film back in October 2014. He had 20 monthes (along with other works) to score the movie.

He has done some great works, however this is one of his weakest scores..... I listened to it when it came out, didn't do anything for me, and when I saw the movie 2 nights ago, I really feel he didn't do the movie justice, Jeremy Soule should have done the movie score. His music for GOT is awesome and I was really looking forward to this, so disappointing.

Maybe he was over-scheduled with too many projects on his plate

You probably don't know any thing about the Game of Thrones !!!

I've watched every episode so far. And except for the theme tune, which isn't great music but might be quite catchy, there is nothing... I mean nothing at all. Despite the great opportunity that was given to him with this vast fantasy story, his writing is totally predictable and uninspired, mostly just "moody" chords instead of real music. Being a RCP composer, Djawadi's artificial sound makes it even worse. I recommend to rewatch some episodes and fully concentrate on the music. A good example of well-written orchestral music for a TV show is Abel Korzeniowki's score to Penny Dreadful - a composer who even remembers the existence of woodwinds.

Thanks for sharing. I'd have preferred to see the Blizzard composer team working on this project, but what I like about this score is that it has a nice orchestral sound without many electronic samples (just like the Warcraft & World of Warcraft soundtracks).

Well, I have to (respectfully) disagree with many of the previous comments... Sure, Djawadi's score won't contend for best score of the year, nore will it be remembered as a masterpiece. However, I found a lot to enjoy here. It's multithematic, with pretty attractive themes actually. I think the music suits the film very well, and it flows nicely during its 60 min running time on album. It really speaks to me, and I can only describe it as a very entertaining listening experience. Nothing really innovative of course, but entertaining nonetheless. Besides, there are definitely woodwinds in it. ;-)

So, imho again, the score is far from being "totally uninspired".

I certainly don't hate the soundtrack or anything, but I'm still disappointed that Glenn Stafford and co. didn't get to write the music for this movie. Failing that, Clint Mansell, who has a working relationship with Duncan Jones, would have been a more interesting pick...

Thank you for the share, many are saying it could be more. Well I've just clicked on the link and I'll see how it goes, perhaps Mr Djawadi hasn't got the passion of some of the older composers or the film didn't speak to him, even though he had the time to compose the score, just think if he only had 4/6 weeks to complete what state would it be in then.
