According to both Comicbook.com (and Alan Silvestri's official site) he is going to compose the score for both Avengers:Infinity War movies!

http://comicbook.com/2016/06/07/avengers-composer-alan-silvestri-to-return-for-infinity-war/
http://www.alansilvestri.com/news-alan-rejoins-the-marvel-universe-with-avengers-infinity-war-part-i-and-part-ii-123.htm

Maybe it's because he's more classically trained, but as far as creating a score that is seamless, (and out of all the composers who has contributed on MCU), Mr. Silvestri does a damn good job, and I think it will be an epic listening :)

That's great news, I'm relieved Jackman won't score them!
It's a shame Tyler got fired, he would have been a great choice too.

Fired? I didn't know that.. O_o
Do you know why?

Jackman is an okay composer, but I get the feeling that he is too "in-the-moment"(incidental?) with his scoring - making tracks that aren't really connecting all the scenes together.

Take "The Avengers" for example; Silvestri managed to capture the suspense from the beginning(with "Arrival"), leaving breadcrumbs of what is to come (while establishing themes for other stuff like The Helicarrier) and then rounding up all the little tidbits at the end with "Assemble".

So yeah, this could be good...maybe he creates a theme for Thanos as well?

This is the best news about Marvel movies in a long time!

I loved his first Avengers score, but I didn't enjoy Tyler's scores at all (except for Iron Man 3). Jackman made a good job for Winter Soldier but a horrible one (IMO) for Civil War.
Definitely a perfect choice for Infinity War. At now, this is the only thing that makes interesting the Infinity War movies, to me.

Also, I hope for Ludwig Gorannsonn for Black Panther.

The studio wasn't pleased with his music, simple as that, which is why they brought on Elfman at the 11th hour to salvage the score.

Actually, I don't think it came out that good.
From Tyler I kinda liked Iron Man 3, Thor 2 had some interesting music and Utron was kinda messed up, IMO.

Hope Silvestri will make Marvel scores great again!

Utron was kinda messed up, IMO.

Simple reason: Two composers with clashing styles, differing visions and one of them only being brought on at the last minute to try and "save" the score after Tyler had dropped the ball big time in Marvel's opinion. It's a shame as Elfman's parts aren't that bad and it'd have been nice to see what he could have done if brought in from the start.

But the MCU has had a problem with scores since the end of Phase 1. Phase 1 had some amazing scores such as Ramin Djawadi on Iron Man, Craig Armstrong on The Incredible Hulk, Patrick Doyle on Thor and Alan Silvestri on Captain America and The Avengers. Phase 2 had some decent scores but it never reached the heights of Phase 1. Hopefully Phase 3 will have some excellent scores.

I actually didn't like at all Tyler's MCU style. I mean, I hardly notive his MCU scores. Strangely I like his F&F scores...

Hope Christophe Beck will make another one! Ant-Man was quite a nice score.

Don't know about Giacchino. Sometimes he does great jobs, other times just fill-in-some-music scores.
Hmm... my ears definitely have problems! XD

If the Silvestri who crafted the scores to Back to the Future, Predator, Volcano shows up, it's great news.

If it's the more recent Silvestri, whose scores have been flaccid and uninspiring, not so great.

Am I the only one who actually liked Tyler's score to AoU? Of course, Elfman as well. He's the king of superhero music.

Glad you liked it! :D
I'd really love to say I do but I barely noticed there was some music while watching the movie :/
And... I never watched it again after the first time.

I like Elfman's parts of the score. Tyler's... are ok. Not as good as his other stuff. It's enjoyable but very underwhelming. It's not hard to see why Marvel fired him.

I like a bombastic score. A lot of people don't, apparently. Maybe that's the difference between myself and others.

The reason Tyler was fired is because his contract said that he couldn't work on another movie while he was working on the score for Age of Ultron, but Furious 7 got delayed after Paul Walker's death so Tyler ended up working on both movies at the same time and couldn't meet his deadline so they had to bring Elfman in to try and salvage the score.

Ah, well this makes sense..
It's easier to work with someone who fully commits to one project at a time.

@pottyaboutpotter1: I agree that there are several movies within the MCU who has a generic blend of "superhero-music" to it. What I'm hoping for are composers that really goes deep into the character and creating a whole-heartedly score that has an organic growth during the movie from beginning to end. We don't know the composers for Spider-Man, Black Panther etc, so it's going to be exciting to see what they'll bring to the table.

@Killgrave: You and me both! He has two years on creating a score for the first IW-movie, but still, it could be a hit-or-miss.

Good. Loved the Avengers score.
