Angel: "It was the single most painful experience of my life"
Danny: "What was the second most painful experience?"

I know its a long shot... but I don't suppose this includes the original (non-film version) of John Eric Alexander's "Lethal Fuzz" source cue?

Was always one of my favourite trailer tracks from the 90's but could never find it. The Hot Fuzz version on the OST was the closest I ever got to it, but still chasing the original.

Momonoki
05-09-2016, 08:29 AM
The tracks are numbered 1-100 but there's only 83 in the archive so I assume the cue you speak of is one of the 17 missing cues.

Clemery76
05-09-2016, 08:32 AM
It wasn't part of the original score though... it was trailer music (I think) written in the late 80's/early 90's. Unlikely to be part of the sessions here, but thought I'd ask anyway! :)

I'm not sure what this counts as, but I think I may have a clue to one of the missing tracks: in the DVD commentary, Edgar Wright says the the percussion piece that plays throughout the barn scene (probably M42) is actually the trailer music from Lethal Weapon (link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKeW-MGu-qQ). Just thought I'd throw that out there.

As for the other missing tracks, is it possible they're probably alternates, source cues or part of the unused bits after M87? I have to re-watch the movie to confirm this, but it's just a thought.

If the link goes down someone can post a mirror. I don't have time to reup.

I don't have lossless version. 83 cues. Looks like it's missing 17 cues.

They are STORED in ALAC, Apple's lossless container. The ORIGINAL FILETYPE is VBR MP3.

Whoever took it from the studio did so by transcoding from the master files. 99% chance they were lossless, most all studio production recordings for film are. It was probably 24/48 but as far as I know this is the only publicly available version.

Ok, yeah you're right. But I still find the heading "MP3 VBR" in this thread is a bit misleading since the format in the container when extracted clearly is mp4.
Sorry if I offended you, but when I saw the heading I thought "Great! Now I can play it in Windows media player and burn it to cd". Now I can't. Oh well, things happen I guess...

So I've finally re-watched the movie and compiled a list of which cues are missing. The good news is that few (if any) of them appear to be David Arnold's score cues, mostly just BGM/scene change music.

My list (what I've been able to identify so far):
001: Narrating Angel’s accomplishments: Goody Two Shoes - Adam Ant
009: Pub source music when Angel walks in, meets the Porters: Sgt. Rock (Is Going to Help Me) - XTC
014: First morning in Sanford, Angel runs: The Village Green Preservation Society - The Klinks
017: Inspector Butterman shows Angel around the station: Down on Bond Street - Tommy McCook and the Supersonics
018: More pub source music: Baby Fratelli, The Fratellis
019: Angel and Danny on patrol: Kick Out the Jams, Tubthumper
021: Angel's school speech/Newspaper typo/Searching for the swan: Slippery Rock 70's - Stavely Makepeace
027: Rock BG music for Pete Cocker/The Shoplifter's mugshot
031: Pub BG music/Messenger interviews Angel about the play
036: Radio music when Skinner drives by Blower & Draper crime scene: Romeo and Juliet - Mark Knopfler
040: Weapons cache in the Barn: Lethal Fuzz - John Eric Alexander
042: Angel and Danny get drinks
050: Radio music Skinner drives by the blown-up mansion: Fire - The Crazy World of Arthur Brown
058: Angel and Danny connect the murder victims
088: End Credits 1: Caught by the Fuzz - Supergrass
089: End Credits 2: Souljacker, Pt.1 - Eels
090: End Credits 3: Here Come the Fuzz - John Spencer & The Elegant Too

Feel free to add add onto this or correct me.

Good work!

I'd like to add a song (so far): I Can't Control Myself - The Troggs. I think it fits between track 19 and 20. I could be wrong though.
Anyway it's right before the scene of the speed trap and pull-over, we here the opening of this song, "Oh no!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVA3iYZ47aQ
