I'm totally stoked for getting my copy of "Mystery of The Batwoman" autographed by the composer herself. Finally a official soundtrack release after about a decade of waiting. Yet is it just me or does her work for the film sound almost like Mark Snow or Louis Febre's style of composing.

Fun fact, Lolita Ritmanis actually worked with both composers for doing additional work for The X-Files movie and Swimfan.

If you guys want to see more of this kind of music being released, you shouldn't make it free on the internet. Purchase it from La La Land Records. It's well worth $20.

The review for this on the Worlds Finest website described it as "torchy"... a perfect adjective. The score rarely delves too far from its enigmatic tone, and there's definitely an air of subdued... not sexiness, but something close to that. It's definitely not at all like what you'll find in the scores to The Animated Series, but it's very enjoyable.

Definitely. This isn't another run-of-the-mill RCP score whose sessions will be leaked someday anyway. This is a score to a ten-year-old film that only ever saw the light of day because LLL saw that the animated series sets sell well. We may not get another Superman: TAS set on account of less-than-great sales; I don't want another situation with these Batman DTVs. Do you realize how few animated films and cartoons get these sorts of releases? Not many; it's incredible LLL gives so much effort into putting this DC music out there. I think it's pretty fair to reward LLL for their work with a mere $20 bill.

The leak was never an official copy, it was a bootleg, wasn't it?
Also tried listening to this score, sounds like Lolita was trying to do Batman Beyond without Kris Carter?

I believe SubZero was sourced from a promo CD. It's great quality, not a DVDrip or anything.

I'm sure I kept SubZero at 192k just because of how rare it was. Maybe the lossless version will leak out at some point? I can only be hopeful :)

This score really suffers from the use of samples rather than an actual orchestra.

Even though the DMP were familiar with scoring things digitally with Batman Beyond, that was intended to sound electronic. I don't think Ritmanis was as proficient in making samples sound like the real thing yet.

She shoulda gotten a few pointers from Nathan Furst. :smrt:

The DMP are better about it now, though, and of course today's technology is better, but this has the potential to sound a lot better. Right now it's so flat.
