How important is it to you what your consoles look like ? Do you mind if your controller doesn't match your console, or does it drive you nuts ?

I wondered this today, upon finally getting my dirty mitts on the crystal XBox I'd longed for. It does the same thing as a black one but I -had- to have a crystal one. No matter that I had to part with more money because it proved a bit difficult to come by, one it's really pretty.

I've wanted a Gamecube for ages but didn't actually get one until I could get a platinum one. Turns out in the end I got an American 'Cube (since all the game shops here I asked in weren't getting the platinum consoles for a good while yet,) which is proving a bit of a pain to get running the other side of the Atlantic. I could probably afford a second hand Gamecube for the money I've spent on replacing bits to get it to work but it was worth it 'cause it looks really awesome (it matches my GBA:SP, what more could a girl want ?)

I'm more than willing to believe I'm just a pathetic sadcase but I know that if I had a black XBox or a purple Gamecube I just wouldn't be happy. Perhaps I'm not alone, I know people who've changed their PS2s for the new slimmer ones just for the looks but I still feel a bit obsessive.

I don't give much of a crap about it. My GC is black but I have controllers of many different colours. My PS2 is scratched up and huge, and my dreamcast has weird stickers on it from the previous owner.

Never really did care much about the looks of my consoles. Probably has something to do with the fact that most of mine end up buried under game casses, magazines, notebooks, and papers most of the time so I don't see them that often.

Of course I know that all these variations and different colors of video game systems do the same thing, but I prefer to have the nicer models, if you can call it that.

After my first Gamecube broke, I went out and got the Platninum one. Which is an awesome color for a video game system in my opinion. I've got one platinum controller for it, and the other three are clear ones.

My Xbox is ordinary, black. The controllers are all different colors, because I guess I don't want to have the same of everything even though it doesn't even matter at all.

I used to have a Flame GBA SP, but I traded that one in and got the Classic Retro NES style, which rules.

Well the GameCube itself looks sleek, but I cannot stand the purple/pink one, it just doesn't fit one way or another. I loooooooooooooooove the Platinum GC (which I own yes =D) and it's soooooo neat. The PS2, black is rather stylish, but then I don't like the new silver edition. Also you can order different versions of the XboX, and I like the green transparent one best.

My GC, PS2 and Xbox are all the 'originals' - I like the idea of having a good looking console, but I don't really have the cash to spare to just get one for the hell of it. The only console which i'd consider upgrading is my PS2, and that's mostly because my 1st generation PS2 is having 1st generation PS2 problems =/

Platinum is a knarly colour, though - my GBA was Platinum. My SP is Onyx, which I like better, but I keep losing.

Honestly, the only variation I've ever wanted is a TEST PS2 - you know the type, it says "TEST" instead of "PS2."

I'm not obsesssive enough to buy another system. Mostly due to the fact that I don't have that sort of money. The blue and green lights are a bit sexy though.

some of the custom dreamcasts i've seen looked really cool, but i'd never shell out 200 for one. my PS2 and GC are silver but they cost the same as the originals
