Back in 1969 I saw a made-for-television movie called Fear No Evil, the first made-for-tv supernatural film. And still the best. It was re-run a year later and I had my new cassette recorder ready and that tape became one of my most prized possessions. In 1971, a sequel aired, Ritual of Evil, and I was ready with my cassette recorder for that one too. It was a pilot for a never made series called The Bedevilled. And then in the early 1980s, just as video casette recorders came into the mass market, Fear and Ritual were re-run, and I got copies, truly high among my most valued possessions even now. They have never been re-run, at least not here. It is commonly accepted that Fear No Evil no longer exists in any form, though there is a rumor that a pristine copy has been found somewhere in Europe, I don't think that has ever been verified. Both starred the wonderful Louis Jourdan, and if you don't know about him and his extremely cool life, look him up. YouTube has a video of him, very aged, finally receiving a long-deserved Medal of Honour.
About 10 years ago, I ran my vhs tapes through my Plextor ConvertX and copied them to dvd. Now I've just copied them to the hard drive with Handbrake, edited them with Audacity to extract as much music from them as I could, and have converted them to mp3. Just uploaded the first try here:
Edit - a third, corrected track list try here:

The sound quality is awful, even worse than Tadlow's Blue Max and Suites. Which brings me to Jerry Goldsmith. He is my all time favorite soundtrack composer. But only after these two scores from Billy Goldberg. Fear is as remarkable a score as Planet of the Apes from the same year. And instead of STTMPs much later blaster beam, Goldenberg uses his own blaster beam effect, a very eerie, wolf-like thing that is weird indeed.
So I hope you all will "enjoy" these. They do go beyond creepy, perhaps the scariest movie music ever written. Unfortunately, no one might never get a chance to see the films this goes with, so you won't realize just how effective this "music" really is.
And if any of the mightily skilled sound editors here want to play with these and make them sound better, there's a whole world out there that should be properly grateful.
Apologies for my ham-fisted efforts. I will try to make these better myself, too.
