I love metal gear Solid for 1 thing alone. The giant robot bosses at the end!!!.
Metal gear solids 1's robot was better then 2's but i ain't palyed 3 yet :-(
Thats where Splinter cell misses out. No action, no giant robots. =)

I do love the splinter cell games, but they lack the kind of imagination that only Hideo Kojima could bring.

MTGS I have playied and beaten them all, great game's loved them to death, The End was the best boss ever, and the story was great.

The Best one by far is MGS3:SE. This game kicks more ass thatn MGS, and I love that game.

As for your question, I have yet to get MGS3 due to other payments needed to be made, but of the ones I do have, Metal Gear Solid easily, that was and still is just a classic, brilliant game.

Thanks to the late european release i havent yet completed it. I agree with you. It lacks in some ways. ALTHOUGH i thought The End was bloody brilliant! I spent exactly 1 hour in battle with him. Loved every second of it:)

I'm glad you imported a PSP from Japan, and can read fluent Japanese.

Unless, MAYBE, you're making a judgement based on reviewers who probably can't speak Japanese themselves, and have spent maybe 10 minutes with the English version at the Konami Gamer's Day and GDC.

Because, hell, the game must suck because they're trying a different style with it.

Ranting aside, I believe the Metal Gear Solid series as a whole is fantastic. As you might be able to tell from my name, I was once of the 1% of the population who didn't immediately hate Raiden, and who believed that MGS2 was actually quite good.

Metal Gear Solid 3 comes out here in a little over 3 days - and i'm a broke uni student now, who won't be able to afford to buy it. It's going to be torture. Seeing ads everywhere for Gran Turismo 4 is bad enough :(

MGS 3 is a great game. It's far better than MGS 2. Anyone who dosen't get it, doesn't know what there missing out on. Unlucky Raidenex

MGS series is the best series in is catagory (Action/Stealth). I love MGS3 I got it on the first day of the American release. The jungle........ But I agree that The End was fun but a little to long. The second time I played I killed him after the cutscene when he and the Fear was brought out in the area with the water to go into the armoury. (Using the sniper rifle, you cna get it right before that cutscene.)

Metal Gear exists solely to rule.
MGS1 revolutionised modern gaming - creating the stealth genre, really. And now every game has an obligatory stealth mission, somewhere, with the most recent being San Andreas and Fable. Of course, these stealth missions always suck. But either way, as a cinematic experiance and great, original and never repetititve play, MGS1 ruled.
MGS2 was a turning point for the PS2, as it markled the difference between 'Good' and 'Great.' Was there a better game out on PS2 before MGS2's release?
And MGS3...better than number 2, yet not on par with the first. Kojima obviously thhought that another version of MGS wouldn't cut it, and MGS1 and MGS3 seem competely different whilst still being similar. It's ingeneous and surely set to be another revolution in modern gaming. I'd expect a whole string of food eating systems to be implemented in forthcoming games.

Unfortuantly, Kojima-san said that this will be the last Metal Gear Solid game he will personally oversee. He will just be a producer. Damn.

But that doesn't mean that there will be no more metal gear, Kojima-san said that he 'wanted metal gear solid to live on, like james bond, different actors, different directors, but same feel'. He is still going to work on games, he palns to make a game based on a book. He is also researching into making a robot -like those clever sony dog ones.

of course, he said he wanted a different person to make MGS3, as well, so I'd take that with a pinch of salt. nobody else wants to touch mgs in case they fuck it up.

i heard that hideo kojima is thinking about making a new metal gear game..without snake. he didnt whant to ruin the story by making a new game with snake in it,cause the story so far started great and ended great. hope not we will play as raiden..that fag. or maybe none of the known characters will be in it., but its jus rumours so. btw mgs3 IS better than mgs2

Also, nearing the end. The game is fairly absorbing for the duration. Sadly, the duration is incredibly short. typical mgs, then. still nowhere near as good as MGS 1, though.

Not quite as GD as MGS 1. I carry on seeing people e.g. guards walking around and in the cut scenes that look like raiden.
Does anyone know why they put him in MGS in the first place?
