What genre of music can you not stand above all else? Or what band? Or what song? Or whatever?

I can't listen to hardcore rap. It makes me ill, and not in a good way. And Shaggy. any song by shaggy. **cringe**

haha I used to like Shaggy in Middle School then I grew ears apperantly.

I really hate Country especially "Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy".

Practically every modern artist, well, the 'Pop' artists anyway. Oh, and Rap too.

Country doesn't bother me. Some rap does, but most I can tolerate.

It's very rare for there to be music I actually can't stand listening to. Creed, and bands who sound like them, would be the exception. I seriously want to tear my hair out when subjected to that crap, and I think it's mainly because of the dude's voice.

Creed is probably the worst thing to happen to music since Menudo.

Now I will tell my world famous Scott Stapp joke.

Why doesn't Scott Stapp have life insurance?

He feels that his family will be able to get by just fine for 3 days.

omg i hate creed. but scott stapp isnt their front man anymore, so maybe their music will get better? i hated how all of their songs were exactly the same. and they werent all the same in a good way, like some bands who are awesome.

what is hardcore rap? Actually... I don't even know what "hardcore" is =\ somebody was saying it was a type of music here.

And I have no genre of music that I dislike. I've found something decent in every type that I've heard. Unless you drive about with friends that like bad radio stations or something, I can't think of a situation where you could hear enough bad music for it to get on your nerves.

I cant stand gospel music. The stuff you sing at church is ok, but the stuff they play on the radio kills me.

imo, hardcore rap is the stuff BET plays that only people who love rap would listen to.

People that love rap wouldn't watch BET. Unless it's in the way people that love rock watch MTV or something =|

I can't stand much metal, unless it's the Red Vinyls or Metallica, but that's about it...I can stand country cause I like fiddle music and I like classical alot, I guess I listen to pop more than anything though.

Hardcore sort of originated as a variation of punk, but it's usually faster and almost always rougher and the vocals are shouted instead of sung. These days it's turned into some kind of out of control, freakish virtuoso indie scene, though. =\

I find it very difficult to catagorise music but i don't like R & B , generally i fail to find either the rhythm or the blues in it... and I just don't understand rap i guess, or hip-hop or any of that, it just doesn't do anything for me.
Pop is a weird one (for one thing it stands for popular so could technically mean anything and also, ) because although i tend to dislike or have little time for the stuff catagorised as pop, i can listen to it if i must, unless its westlife or some other dull monotonous slow crap which does give me this irrisistable urge to dig my own organs out with a spoon.
Guitar based music would be my general favourite area, but again, within this there are quite a lot of restrictions, i dont like stuff like greenday, i hate stuff like metallica... this is really hard... i just like what i lke and hate what i don't that's about how much detail i can give you on the subject i'm afraid.

I hate Christian Rock, I personally think that is one of the biggest problems with rock music today. I even know some Christians that admit its shit. What's even worse about Christian Rock is when they're attached to wires and pretend they can fly whilst playing their electro-acoustic guitar, it just stinks of cheese.

I think you will find quite a lot of Christians who think Christian rock is shit.

but christian punk? i like it.

I have only heard one Christian punk band that I've liked, and they were called Jesse and the Rockers. There's a used CD of theirs sitting at "the music store," and I might buy it just for the novelty, even though if I could understand the lyrics (or bothered to attempt to) I'd probably hate the band on principle.

Anyway, I hope you're not referring to MxPx, 'cause they make me sad. =\

I liked Pillar, they are considered christian rock I guess, but I have never heard anything that relates to God in the songs.

Blindside is a "christian" band and they are one of the best bands around.
Amazing live show.
Project 86 as well. Their instrumentals are only moderate, but andrew schwabb's lyrics are quite impressive.

Look up their lyrics for "1x7", "rebuttal" (which is ACTUALLY a rebuttal, to, err a Tool song I believe.) And the ENTIRE Truthless Heroes album which is a pretty amazing concept album, that unfortunately was marketed completely wrong and failed to sell.

Their followup Songs to Burn your Bridges By.. is a return to their old style, and very solid lyrics.

So, I understand Christian rock for the most part is pure trash, I agree. But Blindside and Project 86 (especially for me) stand out as examples of GOOD music.

Someone is now going to completely disagree with me.

I completely disagree with you.

...but it could be worse. I downloaded a couple of their songs, and they were only moderately boring.
