Dragon Quest Discography / Soundtrack Collection

I spent about a month collecting all the Dragon Quest music.

I had to sign up for sites in Japan and China, and had to download a Chinese downloader, which took me quite a while to figure out my login details, and then after downloading found out a lot were password protected, so had to search Google in Chinese for the password.


So hopefully this is all of them, I noticed other threads were incomplete and had dead links.

As far as I could see from RPGFan and VGMDB this should be all of them, if anybody sees any missing let me know.


Big thanks to those on here that uploaded most of them originally, and to people on Baidu.com and pan.baidu.com for posting a lot of the missing ones, and to the people on Niconico www.nicovideo.jp for posting the CD Theaters, and to the Dragons Den at http://www.woodus.com , they have a lot of the music ripped right from the games.

Glad that some are getting a use out of them.

When I first started I had no idea how extensive the collection was. I was just going through my music and found some folders of an old torrent with some electone and symphonic suites, so I looked to see what was all missing and was shocked to see so many.


This should be pretty much all of them, there were a couple that I passed up because they were just the same game released on the Android/iOS, I can add those as well if anybody wants them too.

There is 2 different copies of Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 1 and 2, one set came from the Dragons Den, and the other came from somebody on here, though the ones on here were not named at all, so I couldn't make heads or tails of them, so I just threw them in as well.


I added some different categories, and made each album it's own drop down list.

According to Wiki - Dragon Quest Heroes was developed by Omega Force, who are better known for their hack and slash Dynasty Warriors franchise, and published by Square Enix.

Maybe Omega Force doesn't care for distributing the soundtracks as much as Square?

I didn't even see that one. It seems to still be available for sale so it'd be best for everybody to just buy it so they keep making them.
Eventually somebody will upload it though.
If I ever come across it I'll share it.

I'm still working on getting them all in FLAC or WAV, the problem is that it takes up so much space, my internet isn't that fast so it takes me quite a while to download and upload.

I was planning on making a torrent with all of them, mp3's and FLAC for one big collection once I can get to it.

Edit: DQ Heroes' OST contains mostly (if not all) tracks from the previous games. I looked for the OST 'cause I wanted Heroes' version of War Cry from DQ8 and it turns out it's the 3DS version. (Or VERY similar)

Edit 2: I was able to download it by accessing the complete folder.

I've dowloaded some of them and if you're interested I can help sort them a little better.

You have actually three gamerips that are duplicates, some have additionnal sfx tracks and/or named tracks too but the rips are the same so it's quite easy to chose which one to keep.
- "Dragon Quest Monsters 4 Joker DS" = "Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 1 - Nintendo DS"
- "Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 Nintendo DS" = "Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 2 - Nintendo DS"
- "Dragon Quest Heroes Rocket Slime Soundtrack" = "Dragon Quest Slime Mori Mori 2 Nintendo DS"

Some are wrongly named.
- "Itadaki Street DS - Dragon Quest Super Mario PSP" should be "Itadaki Street Portable - Dragon Quest Final Fantasy PSP"
- "Itadaki Street DS - Dragon Quest Super Mario PS2" should be "Itadaki Street Special - Dragon Quest Final Fantasy PS2"
- "Fortune Street Wii" could be "Itadaki Street Wii - Dragon Quest Super Mario Wii" (Fortune Street is the US name of Itadaki Street)

And you could group Young Yangus with Torneko as Mystery Dungeons series.

I've done all that I am going to do with the music, I mainly only cared about all the older music and the special albums and wanted to preserve them so they didn't become lost
