Thank you very much... If it's not too much asking : can we have the mp3's that you can download from the blu-ray ??? (not rip but import) They are normally taggued with both Japanese and English names and contain the famous secret tracks...

Already retagged mine. MP3Tag is a neat program. But yeah, would be nice to get a hold of the two "secret" tracks.

Thanks OP! I had been wanting to see if I could author proper DVD-Audio discs, but didn't want to invest in buying the hi-res FLAC if I couldn't burn it to a proper disc to play on my audio system.

So this will make a perfect test subject!

Try downloading each file seperately. MEGA packaging to zip seems to mess things up a little.

Ripped the bonus tracks myself from Blu-Ray as 16-bit, 48kHz FLAC files (source movies were in that bitrate, and had to master the 5.1 ch to 2 ch stereo):

I used LameXP on his FLAC's to make them V0 mp3's, but the kbps on the end results are much lower then the rest of this album at the same V0.

He might be specifically talking about the bonus tracks, and not to take away from the effort that monstergundam put into this (much appreciated by the way) something seems off with those tracks. It might be the changing from 5.1 to 2ch stereo is where the issue is. I don't have experience messing with 5.1 audio so I'm not familiar with how changing it could affect the quality. The quality between the OST and these two songs do seem to be different though.

If you wouldn't mind hosting them (PM with a link is fine) I wouldn't mind at least taking a look at them since I've never messed with 5.1 stuff. Not guaranteeing I can do any better than you did with them since I have no experience in the area.

5.1 ch Bonus tracks WAV files (no tags)

So I loaded these up in Audacity and tooled around with them. First, I tried muting everything but the left and right channels but that clearly took away from the song since some of the vocal chanting (in Torn from the Heavens) come through differently on the other streams. After that I just converted the files as-is to V0 MP3 and everything seemed normal to me. (Although I gotta say I'm not really a fan of the orchestrated versions of these songs just in general)

I put them on my MEGA if you want to give them a listen. Maybe someone with a better ear can tell if anything is wrong with them, but being that I didn't alter anything in the source file they should sound pretty similar, just obviously in a lossy format. Thanks again for sharing these monstergundam.

Thank you so much for this! But I am sharing a discovery. I was in the process of cleaning my flacs with command line and used a re-encode command with very strict quality to squeeze every last kb of the files. And this rip fell from 9,20Go to 5,29 Go.

That is a HUGE saving for one album. Gonna check other rips as time go on, but you might want to reencode your files before uploading to save on your bandwidth! The CPU time is well invested in that case. :D

PS: I used the verify option in flac.exe and both files have the exact same stream, so no difference. Still 100% lossless. Have a great day! :D
