Everyone, I just read the new agreements and policy for upcoming Nintendo Account service!

I have only one thought to share:
NO MORE IMPORTS!

I have Japanese and European 3DS, and the Japanese one will be rendered COMPLETELY USELESS soon. All actions require NA, and to get one, it's easy. HOWEVER, I just read that Nintendo Account MAY ASK FOR LINKED _CREDIT CARD_, and my guess is, European cards are not supported, only Japanese ones (in case of JPN account). And to get a Japanese c.c. you have to be a Japanese citizen for over four years. This means, no updates, no DLC, no DIGITAL PURCHASES, no... anything.

So even if they support European (or US) cards, when you have linked your c.c. to NA, YOU CAN NOT USE THE SAME CARD FOR ANOTHER ACCOUNT. Or you can, but if they realise you are using same card for two accounts, it is possible BOTH accounts will be killed.

Simply put, importing Japanese Nintendo games will be restricted completely.

This means also that this kind of treatment may be added to other gaming services, like PSN soon. So even if the console is region free... you are still locked via accounts.

So, from THIS day onwards, I won't be importing anything Nintendo related, and I am very wary of PSN too. They finally did the thing I have been afraid of, killed importing. The NA will be established on March this year, and it will of course affect the games before this system, so... this is it. Fun, eh?

Why the hell are they seriously so strict with region code block? It's seriously sickening, is there a serious legit reason why they do this?

Literally EVERYONE has abandoned region code blocking but them. I thought they'd change their ways for the NX but doesn't seem like it.

Doing this kind of worldwide censor is really backwards, and I thought they were changing up their ways because rumours say the NX will be at par or even more to PS4 and XONE. It all looks promising, but then they do this. Restricting customers to cloud use and to their mercy it's not good.

There's many good games after the DS and Gamecube, and I know people will agree with me. :v I feel like you're just blinded by nostalgia to literally imply that every single game after your period of time, sucks just because you say so xD

With the exception of Zelda, most Nintendo games have been pretty meh for the past decade. Super Mario 3D World was really good, but yeah, it was still a rehash of various old ideas. Even Smash Bros. is suffering from having so much potential that is basically being ignored. If Zelda U disappoints, I think Nintendo is going to be in a lot of trouble.

The whole region-locking bullshit needs to end. It's anti-consumer for people who want to import Japan-exclusive content, and people in Japan who want to try western content. I'm sure it's another reason why there's jack shit on the Wii U that isn't first-party.

I believe The Legend of Zelda for the Wii U will be one of the largest and best Nintendo / Zelda games to date.
