So yes it would bring them money, but not that much. The fans will pay for it. but the question is: how many fans of Titanic's score are there compared to fans of, for example, Rihanna ?

answer: a lot fewer. And if these few (and by few I mean 20, maybe 40.000 people willing to buy a film score like titanic) are relatively numerous, they are nowhere close to the millions who buy Rihanna, Eminem or Lady Gaga's disc. which in itself is a sad state of affair,btw.

Also, corporation never release stuff for free. free doesn't pay the investors.

You know with TITANIC, it's interesting because with the original release, James Horner actually made money off of that personally. That's a very rare thing because composers don't really earn anything from albums that's worth much. That must have been a big factor in the 'too much money' reason Sony kept using. That might change now with any potential money going to Horner's estate or however that works with his passing.

the answer to all of the above is no. he shared the wealth, as I said, unlike our boy Casey here who's just bragging about something he says he has. So no. two different situations. Scoreman was a totally different bread of leaker.

1- he had true access to score sessions.
2- he was in it for the sharing. of course there was stuff he was unwilling to share. but he didn't advertise these.

On another hand, things could indeed change now that he is no longer with us. depends on the exact terms of his dealings with Sony, who has the rights on the music, who has the reproduction rights, who has the diffusion rights, etc, etc. I'm not saying that score will never see the light of day. All I'm saying is that it will take time, as all good things do. Frustration always makes things taste/sound/look/feel better.

If i had to give a window I'd say it'll take 3 to 13 years before we see the score. I'll bet on the movie 20th or 25th anniversary.

I'm beginning to think I need to pass the title of Dream Crusher on to Le Doc. He does a pretty good job of it.

Le Doc's analysis may not be what anyone wants to hear, but it's spot on.
The only other source for the recording sessions would be someone connected to the music/sound editing process, and frankly, if they were going to share it here it would have happened by now. Not impossible, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting or have a freak out when threads like this turn up.

And for those out there looking for it, I give the same advice I always do: be patient.
I mean, be really patient. You're not going to die because you don't have every last note.
