Thanks for the lossless version Logi! Welp, you know what I'm up to now but while you guys wait for the mod for SC, have a go with this "Music expansion" project that has a few remixes for your PC version. Backup your original music files, then cut and paste the new files in.

Thanks in advance! As soon the mod is out, I will instantly put SC on the top of my backlog list.

On the whole, I think this is a better Evolution 'redo' than FC Evo was. They kind of messed up some of the most famous songs but I'd say it has more tracks I like on it.

Yeah, I can see how that applies (the remade battle themes in particular are amazing imho), although I loved the first Evo OST as well. I wonder how the 3rd's remake will sound like since I know almost nothing about that game.

Thanks!
To me, a number of the tracks are hit or miss. Fateful Confrontation in particular is rather disappointing to me, since without the live guitar they used in previous games it doesn't really sound much different from the original, just clearer. I was REALLY looking forward to a version done in the same way as the previous Evolution games.
On the other hand, the new versions of Enforcers and Infiltration are absolutely amazing. I just really wonder if they ran out of money for the arrangements, preventing them from using live guitar like they did in the previous games, forcing them to use synth guitar. Good synth guitar, but still nowhere close to real guitar.

Thankfully USS Enterprise is already working on such a mod, I think we will hear from him soon. Trails SC's OST is also smaller than FC's due to reusing many tracks.

Life's been...interesting for the past several weeks, but boredom at work triumphs again and the mod is almost ready to go. I'm able to test most of this stuff myself this time as I actually BEAT the game before this came out and have a bajillion saves to make the testing go smoother.

Replaying parts of the game again, just like the EVO FC version for me I felt that this score reshapes the game's experience. I know a lot of you didn't like FC's EVO version but it made me play Trails in the Sky FC and I've no regrets (obviously) loving that score. Without it, this series might have been shelved into my abyss best known as my backlog of games to play.

I love SC's EVO score though I find a few somewhat flawed. Falcom did listen to those who said the FC's EVO music wasn't dynamic enough. Worst that came out of it for me was "Looking up at the Sky" best known as the music that plays out on the field. WTF? Too much going on there. I really was looking forward to the EVO rearrange so I was kinda thinking, oh great, they wrecked the SC's EVO score. Fortunately, I think a lot of the extra eletronica and synth is appropriate as the shift in technology (and intensity) changes exponentially from FC to SC. I like the Daft Punk (general techno?) vibes from the Liber-Ark tracks and adds in some much-needed action to it. And there is a LOT of action in that last dungeon.

Stay tuned as the testing is almost finished!

Awesome news. I decided to compare the two versions of "Looking up at the Sky" as well, and I agree that the remake turned out to be inferior. The original had a very calm, somehow dreamy feeling.

Maybe I will do an elaborate OST comparison for myself before I mod everything in. Going by my FC impressions, the tracks which decided to use a live instrument for the melody part ("Departure", "Grancel" and "Challenger Invited" for example) were a good improvement thanks to JDK's performance. I notice a similar pattern in SC so far ("Strepitoso Fight" has great guitar harmonies), and the same counts for those arrangements which mainly remastered the track with higher quality synths ("Secret Green Passage").

Wohoo! \o/ I guess we need to combine the FC OST with the SC one to cover the entire game, right?

Thanks a lot for all the hard work. Out of curiousity: how long did it take to modify the audio files of both games respectively?

So next day turned out to be next week. Whoops.

This one didn't take as long. I had some new gear though that made Audacity freak out during loops so there was a few hours where I was pulling out my hair thinking I lost my music mojo when it was my hardware for some strange reason (stupid DirectSound).

I had finished up after about 2-4 hours of critical listening. Sadly I haven't completely run the whole score on the game yet, so be sure to give a holler if I missed something!

Oh and you'll notice there are two files named PROTO. Falcom or another company took down the intro on Youtube for Sora no Kiseki SC Evolution and since I never saw it I didn't have any clue how they cut up the opening mix (though I heard the animated video left something to be desired). I made some "Opening versions" of Silver Will Golden Wings and while they sync up nicely with the old movie I didn't like the way they turned out. Give both cuts a listen and pick which one you like best. Like neither? Good, we both agree on something, lol. Hope you all enjoy it; it does enhance the experience of the original game IMO.

Nice to know, and sure, I will keep an ear out for any strange parts!

Haha, I noticed that as well. I went with the 2nd Proto since it had the newest edit, and it synched up very good actually. On the enhancement: I agree, about 80 to 90% is an improvement imho. Luckily we can have the best of both worlds with the Steam mod options.
