Me too. He was obvioulsy an icon to everyone, but I grew up to Labyrinth and followed his music (and film career) ever since then.

It'd be nice if he has a surprise cameo in Zoolander 2 like he did in the first one.

and now labyrinth will become the most watched movie in the upcoming weeks.
if the movie was just released today, it would surpass episode 7's gross in 3 days.

never particularly cared for this guy, his music, or his acting.
one of the (dis?)advantages of not hearing commercial music.

call me when yulia (of TATU), daft punk, daler mehndi, glukoza nostra and Haley Gibby (or haley, most famous for singing deadmau5/kaskades I REMEMBER)
die. then ill care.

and to a lesser extent, mary elizabeth mcglynn.

Another sad day for music :(

I have not listened to his music, but I'm sure he was a legend. I knew him most as Tesla from the Prestige.

Even if you only knew him through his acting chops, you're sorely lacking if you've only seen The Prestige! I HIGHLY recommend you watch The Hunger (https://www.google.be/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwjH5bex-6HKAhXJORQKHWmjC_MQyCkIIDAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3Dl9 IDoAPC6Ps&usg=AFQjCNF8FB3ppNUIe6LxBjUgBGyKFMTsCQ&sig2=seZweoel5If_C3zdHxS_PQ&bvm=bv.111396085,d.d24). ;)

To David Bowie:

"Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good."

The word "genius" is overused, but not in the case of Bowie.

"We can be heroes, just for one day
We can be us, just for one day"

this has hit me like a bullet train

so many of my memories are attached to his music. As an artist always admired his bravery, never settled, never conform, always trying to find whats behind the next door, he was a very forward thinking creative soul, a visionary even. I found him very kind too, theres a wise kindness behind most of his work, he cared for his fellow men

he did and tried so many things! he led by example teaching us thats the thing we own to life, a pity we wont have his creativity around anymore.

I haven't really listened to David Bowie, but I gotta say that his "Moonage Dream" really brought some good vibes in Guardians of the Galaxy. :)

When the gang are approaching Knowhere, the track just amped up the experience - looking at the massive scale of Knowhere while listening to the track just made it more enjoyable

My first experience with him was while playing Omikron: The Nomad Soul, I mean, just look and hear that intro:

"The stars look very different today". :(

I didn't star listening to Bowie until the mid '90's but with that it opened the doors to a colorful library of music both new and old.
A true icon.

....

I know it had nothing to do with him but for some reason the first song I wanted to hear after of his death last night was Kermit the Frog's Rainbow Connection.
...and it was just what the doctor ordered.

Farewell, you Thin White Duke, you.
