Great score! I first came across this many years ago in college. While reading through it, I saw a section for chorus that seemed very familiar. I'm not sure what the time-stamp is on this particular version, as I have not heard it yet, but I invite you to listen to (what should be) track 21: "To Kazan!" a little after after 2mins and then listen to Horners "An Epitaph To War" from Glory. Many film composers lift from previous works, but this is one of the more direct instances I've heard. Horner does develop that material into something else with great effect, but the source cannot be denied! I would appreciate a link for this Erich, thanks!

Yes, there are a dozen of more fine conductors who had CDs produced last year. This, of course, was back much further. The conductor is one of the greatest not just of a year but of so many decades! His complete Tchaikovsky and his Rachmaninovs that were available are incredible... and his Russian revived Prokofiev and Walton/Schnittke are remarkable. Of course, I been wishing for THIS Prokofiev of his forever. Thank you for sharing -- may I have the link?

Yes the late Horner "borrowed" a lot of material not only from Ivan, but from Alexander too.
