Thanks.

By the looks of things, it looks as if you just removed certain tracks and then spliced these together or something. Can you explain your process and the flow of this suite?

Below a picture of how i have done it.

A fellow Audition user!!!!!

It looks like you have (almost) every cue you used on a different track. I haven't listened yet, but it helps if you keep everything on the same track and crossfade the cues - and at the right spot - that cannot be stressed enough. Otherwise if you just crossfade randomly it can sound like total crap. I'll give this a listen later.

There are a few naff transitions, but mostly I find this very satisfying. Thank you!

Not a huge fan of this score so far... but this is a satisfying listening experience. Cheers Crunch 75!

Huh, I usually use Audacity for all my editing. Which do you think is easier to use?

For making a suite, Audacity is virtually useless.

It's better more for editing rather than laying tracks on top of each other... the layout just isn't made with that in mind. I use FCPX to layer audio like that.

Then what do you call this!? MEGA (https://mega.nz/#!BN1EyQqQ!ddmZLrxYPA5_Ovu9DtR2nBXWrr4fntJ1Y9qEUN2MMcc) A suite of all 5 tracks of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault I just made a couple minutes ago (MEGA took forever), all made with Audacity, adds up to about 17 minutes (its a short score), and I think It flows pretty well (tracks play over other tracks at their endings). In other words, laying tracks on top of each other. :p

Audacity is the poor man's Audition. If Skelly had it, I know he'd use it.

I only have it because I bought my Mac on eBay with everything I was looking for: Audition, Premiere, Photoshop, and Final Cut.

I only ever use Audacity for my vinyl rips. That's how I record them to my Mac. Everything else is done in Audition. That's where my film mixes come from.

Don't get me wrong, I have and use Audition, I just don't use as often. I should start using it more.

FYI for anybody looking for a more completer version of the score....

The bit where Rey and Ren fight uses the track from Episode 4 "Burning Homestead"

At the moment I use Audacity :)

To me, it is more important what tracks you edit together, not how. Editing various tracks is a sort of storytelling. It's more important what you tell, not how a sentence follows the other.
Recently I got Audition, but I haven't learned how to use it. It's way more complex than Audacity is!

Well, it did the trick... this much-played suite has turned me into a fan of this score.

Thanks again crunch!

Don't know if you take requests, or if someone else is willing to do this, but I would really appreciate a suite for all of Kylo Ren's themes and a suite for the First Order. Was kinda bummed something like that didn't make it on the OST.

Thanks for sharing your Suite. From my own experience of creating film suites, may I offer some suggestion? First, I try to avoid repeating themes if at all possible. Including all of the end credits repeats several themes. Second, the flow on your first edit is off. When effectively editing, you need to consider the pacing and flow of one piece to the other. The transition is off because the cue from Scavenger slows down too much to drop into Rey's theme. Finally, don't hesitate to make dramatic changes to the original files. When I created the Symphony for a Saga, I took it as a challenge to adjust and layer tracks more. For me, that is where the fun comes from.

To belatedly join the software conversation, I have been using Acid for years and years and years. It hasn't failed me yet. I always keep each clip on its own track. I can control the blend much better that way. I can do a slow fade on one, and a linear on the other and do what the music "needs".

Thanks for the share, and keep it up!
