Sweet!!!

I can't believe that for the first time a Tarantino film is gonna have an actual score. I don't count RZA's "material" (sound effects) in Kill Bill vol. I, and Robert Rodriguez did a few cues totaling mere minutes for vol. II. This is a full score, if I'm correct. I hope it's as good as classic Morricone.

Yeah, cause True Romance wasn't composed by Hans Zimmer :P, or are you not counting that as a Tarantino film? Does it have to be directed by him?

That's Tony Scott -_-

By that logic Scarface is an Oliver Stone film (Brian DePalma directed)?

I know my Tarantino material :p

Yes, I know this. That doesn't make it a Tarantino film.

He also wrote From Dusk Till Dawn but that's a Robert Rdriguez film ;)

I'll be taking a day trip to Manhattan to see it in Ultra Panavision :D

Question remains whether Tarantino's dropped songs outweigh Morricone's score and in turn disqualify the score from consideration. But it would be grand to see the old fart finally win a real Oscar.

Has he never won? By "real", has he been given an Honorary Oscar?

He received an "Honorary", but not for a score itself…thus far.

Just like Sir Peter O'Toole never won one for acting before he passed.....

Williams has several Oscars, does he not? Morricone deserves one.

IRC, Williams has 4 for original score (Jaws, Star Wars, ET and Schindler's List), and 1 for adaption (Fiddler on the Roof).

finally Morricone & Tarantino

You can say that again ;)

My favorite Morricone piece in a Tarantino film is L'Arena, from vol. II.
when The Bride escapes Paula Schultz' grave ;)

It's still written by Tarantino..

That doesn't make it a Tarantino film.

"Overture" sounds a bit minimalistic, almost. Waiting for the full score.

Thanks!
