Thanks, but what's with that shink.in referrer? It's trying to hijack my computer and install some malware. It has locked me up and I'm going to have to force quit.

I've been getting a few reports about these link shorteners.

The truth is behind them, is that a lot of the services can be exploitable.

Most of these are free serivces that depend on ads to make money when someone visits the page.
Most services can't control what ads they get so sometimes there will be ads that want you to install software.

Anti-virus and anti-malware programs can have issues with these.

Without certain adblock or other plugins, browsers can really have issues with these.

We might have to work on something where link shorteners are allowed only until there's complaints/reports on specific ones.

Actually, I had multiple ad blockers running plus NoScript. The referrer wouldn't work with them enabled. I disabled them and BAM, I got the old "Your Flash is out of Date" warning and no way to opt out. Had to force quit--it had the browser completely locked up.
