Just a question.
Have you ever bought a book because of the cover, and if so what was the book?
(And preferably what was on the cover.)

Does title count?

If you only mean cover art, I can't think of any.

I mean the art.
It's okay if you don't have one.

Does Rolling Stone count? If so:

Club magazine.

Can't remember, but they're all smutty.
Plus like a dozen different types of other magazines that didn't last long.

Bookwise, I bought the LOTR trilogy a couple times because of different covers. Some were very simplistic, others were just generic stuff.

One time I bought "The Killing Joke" because it was in hardcover. If it wasn't, I was going to walk right past it.

I have fallen prey to the cover art of many books. Notabbly, the Malazan series by Steven Erikson,
and the Necronomicon by H.P. Lovecraft!

Necronomicon by H.P. Lovecraft!

Oooih that reminds me.
I got that, plus the other book that covers spells from it and stuff. There was a companion book that I bought with it.

Also, I got LaVey's "Satanic Bible" because it had a nice pentagram on it.
Complete with Baphmet on black matte.

not some stupid heavy metal band tattoo or anything kids use today.

I also managed to find a book called "The Witches Bible" that had a similar, simple design for the cover.

And then there was this old timey bible, too.
it was big lettered and fancy looking.

Except, I didn't buy it. I stole it.
It was from my mom's-boyfriend's thrift store and it look fancy and I wanted it so I took it.
My mom didn't care. She knew I was going to take it anyway.
Now I got a lot of bible type books lying around.

Batman: Kinghtfall Volume 1.
Where Bane is breaking the Bat's back.

I was giong to get those at some point.
Ideally, I would have wanted all the volumes, whenever they finish or how far they go up to.
But, Vol 1 was just going to be the start of it.

The picture looks good.
Well tragic. but defining tragic.
It's paperback, so I have to becareful.

I don't know if such a thing exists in hardcover. And I don't think I want to know the price either.

The other HP book I got that was a tie-in with Necronomicon
is called Eldritch Tales: A Miscellany of the Macabre

I'm not sure what the other necro book was.
Maybe something by a teenager.

I also got a book to the Keys of Solomon because it was riddled in symbols.
Pretty book.
