Hi all,

I'm a big fan of old school video game music (80-90s era) and I've been working on a trivia app for Android, called "Name That Game". You listen to a track from a video game and guess the video game. Now it's available at Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bitorchestra.namethatgame

If you have a chance to play it, please let me know what you think and if there's anything you'd like to see in it.

Thanks!

Nice! I was just doing this a couple weeks back with a couple co-workers using my media player on shuffle! I"ll get back to you when I can actually play it! [I'm at work right now...]

I do know that, as a concept, it'd make a fun party game, if you can figure out how to connect friends to it...

Thanks for checking it out (once you get around to it.)This started as a game that my family and I could play together and it evolved from there. I've been adding new songs almost daily, so let me know if there's any you'd like to see on there.

Multiplayer mode is something I've had on my mind for future updates. Do you prefer multiplayer in the same room, where 2 people share the screen sitting across from each other, or an online turn-based approach (like Words with Friends)?

I'm not quite sure how to explain it. I kinda had something akin to using a WiiU connected to a Wii, but the online turn-based approach would probably be a better bet.

On a sidenote, my data got disabled on my phone, which I didn't realize [though, thinking about it, I should have] you need for the app. Once I get it going again, I'll check the app out.

secondary sidenote: I saw your Flying Burrito game, got it, and enjoy it! It's a fun, albeit mildly frustrating, time-killer! LOL!

I think I know what you mean. I'll continue making updates and adding new content.

The data is mostly required for streaming the audio. Also, it means I can add new games and make updates without having to update the app over and over again.

Thanks for checking out my other game. I made that for Flappy Jam (http://itch.io/jam/flappyjam) a while back.

Finally got to try the app out! Love it! I'm finding out that I don't know game music as well as I think I do! LOL! quite a fun game. I like the 2 minute rush mode. I think it needs some playstation music in there as well! In fact, I'd add everything playstation and older, to really mix it up! That'd be a fun challenge, to go from stuff "everybody knows" to the most obscure tune from a console most folks have never heard of!

Small nitpick, the "rate me" pop-up shows up in the middle of a round. If you can change it so that, at the very least, it shows up before or after a round, that would be awesome!

Keep up the good work!

Thanks, glad you like it. I'd like to add PlayStation as well, there's so many great soundtracks. Good point about the "rate me" prompt, I'll try moving that to be less interruptive.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I just added 300+ songs from 40 games (NES, Genesis and Game Boy.) I'll be adding more soon, stay tuned.

Just played a little more today, and was thinking, maybe we could get a Master Leader Board. Possibly based it of the Progress/Percentages page. Would Also like a Song Title on the Right/Wrong page.

A random thing happened to me, too:

I got a Chuckle out of it!

[I don't know why the picture is so big. Screenshot with my phone...]

Thanks for the ideas. I was considereing an overall leaderboard, I just want to make sure that the balance is right.

I haven't seen that bug happen yet, thanks for letting me know, and for providing the screenshot. I'll get that fixed. I'm guessing the answer was probably Castle of Illusion, right? haha
