Much like the Digital Trip and Jam Trip threads, here's another thread to keep track of all the albums released in the Roman Trip series.

For the most part, these were original image albums based off of several Japanese novels/manga. Most of these stories were romance-based (hence the name "Roman"), although there are several exceptions to this.

A Thorn Field On Flames

Also on the SF Animethology '86, the first 2:50 of "Part IV" has an excellent medley of the Nausicaa theme. After that part in the song it gets a little crazy. I just tell iTunes to only play up to 2:50 mark :) EDIT: My bad, this is Digital Trip, not Roman Trip....is that different??? Regardless they are both from you!

Yeah, they're both different.

Digital Trip and Roman Trip are made by the same company, but Roman Trip specializes in making original albums for manga and novels.

I need some suggestions on this:

So I'm currently editing Roman Trip Ginga Sousei Kiden Seisenshi Killy (currently on Track 3)...this has been kinda frustrating me, but I need help on separating some tracks.

With a majority of albums out there, when a track ends it usually goes silent for like 5-8 seconds before the next track starts. With this album the next track starts immediately after the one currently playing ends (which I have no problem with), but Tracks 6-7 of the album are really bothering me since Track 7 doesn't start like that.

At around 2:44, a drum solo begins playing for a while before Track 7 starts. The thing I'm having trouble with, though, is that I don't know if that drum solo is still part of Track 6 or if the drum solo is where Track 7 begins.

What do you guys think?

I've tried doing that already but the way both songs were printed on the vinyl makes it look like it's one song.

So are you saying that the dark shaded groves that you find on side 2 of the actual LP disk which indicate the separate tracks, don't match the actual tracklist of side 2? Like there's one less number?

Yeah, the dark shaded groves aren't there. They're both separate tracks, I just don't know where to separate them when I start splitting each track for release.

This album is based off the first book in a series of novels by Keisuke Fujikawa. I don't know what the books
are about but the cover art for this album and the books are fantastic...I know it'll never happen but imo this
definitely looks like it could've been made into a movie.
Also...Killy's hairstyle just SCREAMS the 80s :D

So as you guys know, the Roman Trip albums are usually based off Japanese novels or manga, but the reason why I found this
one to be particularly fascinating is because it's based off a series of 1940s American detective novels starring the fictional character,
"Philip Marlowe." Granted, I don't know much about the novels, but I just wanted to point this out in case anybody was interested.

The music itself is performed by Akira Ishikawa & Count Buffalos; they're mostly known for having made their own original jazz albums
throughout the 70s and 80s, but they also performed the music in Jam Trip Macross. They're terrific performers, I must say...for an album
that's supposed to be based off the 1940s, they did a really good job at making the music sound like as if it were truly from that era!

...However, there are some songs that don't really sound so 1940s (look at Tracks 6 and 9), but that doesn't mean they're bad or anything.
They still sound great if you ask me :)

The album isn't incredibly rare, but copies are kinda scarce...I'm hoping Columbia can release this on CD someday.

This album is based off a series of novels (of the same name) by Saori Kumi, and she herself is actually
the singer for many of the vocal songs in this album! Interesting if you ask me :)

I don't know if this album is incredibly rare or something, but I haven't been able to find another copy put
up for sale ever since I bought it last year.

This is a continuation of a previous Roman Trip album that I posted in this thread, and also based
on a series of novels by Keisuke Fujikawa. Unfortunately this album is a bit bland compared to the
previous album...there are some decent tracks on here, but overall this album had the potential
to be just as good as "Seisenshi Killy", maybe even better. Oh well.

Mega share for you all. All 3 Chimera Kou albums by Osamu Shoji in Nippon Columbia's Roman Trip album series. Based on the novels by Baku Yumemakura and artwork by Yoshitaka Amano.
LP rips by me. Pop and click removal by anonymous.

Now the noise removal went well for the first 2 albums and they sound amazing. The 3rd album though... the record was pretty beat up and even wood glue couldn't get rid of all the crap, so we denoised it the best we could. It still sounds good and fidelity is nice but there is some distortion in places especially in track 07. I'll definitely get another copy when I get the chance. I could have just waited or posted this without the 3rd album but I already teased this release so I think it's best to share with you all for now.
