in the past years we have seen a huge increase in album captures from spotify. while i don't say no one should
use them as source of getting music. the problem lies in the fact that most of the folks who capture on spotify don't invest
into the premium subscription and then flood sharing places with their bad quality releases. also the lack of information
that they used these services is also troublesome. of course the majority of users don't care and grab anything
they can, no matter the quality. some releasers even add no meta data in the files, which is another annoyance
in the matter.
while i used spotify captures myself for sharing, i did use the premium service to make it up with higher quality and
even replaced some of those releases with itunes or lossless releases, if i had them available.

so if you want to use spotify as source of your shares, then do the following...

get a premium subscription!!!
capture lossless/uncompressed and then edit the stream into tracks
export to highest quality lossy or better stay lossless (flac, alac)
add proper meta data, including album cover
state the origin of your share in the info

Really? I've always worked on the generalized assumption that Spotify and any similar streaming possibilities are universally seen as a colossal waste of time, let alone money, and that, therefore, there exists only a stupendously orchestrated illusion of them, drawing us into the deceit of their diffused use.

Beyond that, I've never come across a similar album capture.

I don't think I can get Spotify in Canada. Last I tried, it wouldn't let me due to international copyrights. :/

bump for awareness, as it seams some sharers still don't want admit that they use spotify (non premium service) for their shares.

And? The big deal is?

There's not a lot of justification for complaint, seeing as you're getting free music.

I bring you a song
And I sing as I go
For I want you to know
That I'm looking for romance

I bring you song
In the hope that you'll see
When you're looking at me
That I'm looking for love

Is that some sort of riddle that answers 'the problem with album captures from streaming services like Spotify'? :p

matt said it quite perfectly ...

A lot of people would really appreciate it if users who upload 128k spotify rips upconverted to 320k would mark them as such, so that downloaders know what they're getting. Of course i am in no position to tell anyone who takes the time to share what they should do with their files, but it's quite frustrating to have these unmarked 128k rips floating around. I'm grateful that you let us listen to the score so early but I wish I would have known what I was getting myself into when I started listening to the album. At least with this one we know the itunes release will be coming within 24 hours, but with a lot of more obscure scores, the only share that ever gets done is a 128k spotify rip, and these files find their way into p2p soundtrack sharing communities and become difficult to distinguish from a genuine 320k release, which is bad for the whole soundtrack sharing community, and bad for the composers and the industry too, because less perceptive listeners who download those files might just assume that the album was recorded poorly, and will then be less likely to buy the release.

So please mark 128k upconverts, everyone. I beg you. :)

Ohh yes, I love that movie, Love is A Song and this song touch my heart every single time, Bambi is an animation masterpiece, a love song to nature. The best of classic Disney. The culmination of the first gold era.. and they really put their everything on it!

I do remember the first time I heard Love is a Song, I was seriously so touched the song got to my heart.

Yeah, I have no problem with the rips being posted. I'd just like to see some truth in advertising as far as audio quality goes. I've posted stuff here that's 128, but I'm up-front about it being a lossy source, and I know upconverting it to 320 would just further degrade the sound and also make a larger file size. (You'd be amazed at the idiots you run across who think just converting from 128 to 320 or VBR improves the sound).
