Why would you need an emulator anyway the consoles work just fine.
What is the sense in playing a game stripped down on the pc???

Besides, good luck running. PS2 and GC roms and emus are illegal as crap at the moment.

Techically any form of emulation is illigal aslong you don't posses the orginal. I think it's somewhat for systems that are "dead". Like the SNES isn't procuded anymore.

I don't see the point in trying to run a PS2 or GC emulator, you need a damn high end pc to even get a smooth flowing image. Like said, good luck trying to get a tech demo to run at 10fps.

our old host was bitchy about stuff like this, but it should be better on here ^^

I honestly don't mind it- of course, if I get a C&D or something, things'll change. have fun with your ps2 emulator quest.

There are a few completed PS2 emulators that I know of and I own one myself. But don't get one please, just purchase the system and buy the games you will have a lot more fun out of the real thing. Emulators and Roms are never as fun as the original games are.

I will give you 10 million dollars, my mom, my dad, all of my worldly posessions for a fully working PS2 emulator that runs commercial games AT a reasonable speed.

I don't know/care. You dont really need a ps2 emulator though. Just buy one! They are cheap as fuck nowadays.

Emulaters for 3-D games work like crap on computers...SNES and old Sega ones work well enough, but even N64 and PS ones play dodgily, and I can only imagine what current-gen ones play like.

In actual fact i have acheived far superior quality out of psone games using an emulator
examples:
you can achieve better texture Detail initilizing open Gl
far better light simulation tecnology in modern cards
Pixel shaders are far superior
bump mapping
mip mapping

Faster Cd access or blistering Iso speeds from HDD

I could go on forever about the tweaks i use to make the games show all their possible potential.

It really doesn't matter if it can play games "better" than the PSOne, that's not what emulation is about. Being able to have a huge compatability with all games is what most emulators strive for. While there are so many things that you could do with an emulator that can surpass the original system, it really does not mean much if the said emulator cannot support a lot of games.

But yes, for the most part, PS/N64 emulators are far from being perfectly emulated, but then again, there is no "perfect" emulator but there are some that are that close to it.

I love smoother graphics say for FFVII. all the game discs i try seem to work with the exception of FFVIII but you can run it from iso
my limited taste in games pretty much assures that they work on the emulators
lol

I think you'll find that N64 emulators work just fine. And basically emulators for every console except NDS, PSP, PS2, XBOX, Gamecube and, to a certain extent, PSX work very well. When I say just fine and very well I mean they run perfectly for a lot of games and may not run a few games.
