Not digging the vocals, but I love the music ( I'm not a Sam Smith fan). I hope that's the theme in there.

Oh, trust me, I've mentioned that before, but it involved an argument, I said "HOLY SHIT YOU SHARED SOMETHING" he called me hypocrite, I proved him wrong, 7 messages arguing, they all got deleted. x3 Wish you could have seen it.

Damnit! I was sleeping :p

You guys gotta air your grievances don't you? There is are two sayings, "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say it" and also "don't feed the trolls". I think they both apply. :)

Thanks for sharing the song. :D

I'm sure it'll grow on us, just like Skyfall did

I gotta admit, the more I hear this song, the more I absolutely HATE it. lol. I'm still grateful for the share, and will reserve final judgement until after the film, but right now... ugh.

I actually rather like the song, even though I was disappointed when I heard he was doing it. Not really a fan of his solo work. But I can see how this will work with the titles, depending on how those look and what the context is. His voice does go a little too high/feminine for my taste at times, but overall I like it. Even Adele's song had things I didn't like, and both she and Smith do the Christina Aguilera voice warble thing that I can't stand.

I guess the real test will be how I feel about it in a few years. Even though Skyfall is still in my top 10, I'm not as in love with it as I used to be. Time will tell.

By voice warble thing I assume you mean melisma. I can't for the life of me figure out why this song is getting so much hate. Bond can't be vulnerable? James Bond is practically an archetype at this point so the songs arguably provide more development of his character than the script. Just because a male is singing the song doesn't mean he is doing it in Bond's own voice. Just like the female songs we are exploring an aspect of the production that needs emotionally fleshing out in a way the words and images can't. How about we see the movie and the title sequence first? None of us have any idea how the lyrics embrace the story.

Smith has stated that the song is from Bond's point of view. I enjoy it for the most part (I'd put it in about the middle of the pack of Bond songs overall), but there are definitely things I don't like about it. The most irritating (at least for me) is the teenage love sick chorus. Adele was the same age as Smith when she wrote Skyfall, but the song feels like it could've been written by anyone of any age. Writing's On the Wall feels like it was written by someone relatively young. So for the song supposedly being from Bond's point of view, that doesn't really work.

It's still a perfectly fine song; I'm sure it'll work well with the title sequence and there have been plenty of worse Bond songs. But it is a step down from Skyfall.

Does anybody know who did the orchestration?
