Avilla was an elite hacker who haxxed the forums years ago. He meant to just change some shit for kicks but he accidentally fucked up the forums to the point of unusability. We were all in IRC talking to him while he was trying to fix it, but he kept making it worse. Eventually sarah had to revert to a weeks old backup of the forums so we lost a lot of content. Shit was hilarious.

As far as reasons for ban goes: I've been the webmaster of a few communities/boards myself and given that, in a way, in that position I'm the guy "welcoming 'you' in my 'house'"/Big Boss of the place, I know all too well I'm entitled to throw anyone out without a legitimate reason.
