My server got a big gil seller problem, damn...
Look, there is a bunch of gil sellers that take my most precious job, DRG, as a way to make money. Only for that, I hate them!
Second, they overcamp every NM they can; raise like a rocket the prices on the Auction Houses; bring trains to parties camping the areas, etc. They are very, very hated.

Because of this DRG issue, other DRGs that really love DRG are being misjudged, offended. They can't have parties, they are called worthless, there is an excess in the amount of DRGs in the server, they get all the hate from the other players.
This situation has become in a desperating problem, and everyone prays for them to get out at once.
They cause too much trouble and we are sick of them.
They are ungrateful and always mess up with parties and other players that only want to have mere fun playing peacefully.
But no, we can't even get enough gil because they take all the NMs, and they are starting to look like machines, because you see them farming 24/7 all the damn time, annoying.
They bother the DRG community, cause the AH prices on everything to be ridiculous.
There are not one, but many groups of gil sellers. There are the Chinese, Peaceenvoy; there are the Americans; there are the Fox named, and some others. Some have friends in Square Enix that help them stay in the server and not be banned. Square Enix says they will do something for good and kick them out definitely, but they had done nothing yet.

Look, I am very interested in knowing if you have the same or similar problem in your server, and see how we are supposed to deal with them. Right now what we do is to try to not buy from gil sellers, to make them not earn enough gil, and not buying gil ourselves. Gil buyers are also being hated. But there must be a more effective way to make them get out of our game forever, let us have fun and stop making money out of our FFXI!

Any comments accepted. :)

Every single server is being effected drastically by it.
it's one of the main reasons I quit.

No.. the reason this happens to DRGs is the job sucks. It's easily the worst job in the game.
Unless you're a godly player, DRGs can expect the typical "melee LFG for 5+ hours" to be triple that or more. ;/

Its a problem for me as a WHM, and because I don't get to spend a lot of time during the weekends playing (work weekends) I count on my two days off during the week to make whatever money I can for my character.. I come through with a train in an part of an area where theres no one and someone steals my baddies. :( I count on Leathercrafting to make whatever living I can, and people keep stealing my trains. X_x

I dunno what the heck I just said.. X_x i'm all confused.

The DRG job, itself, is a misunderstood class... by a large margin I believe. A lot of people end up thinking that a DRG doesn't do as much damage as another Damage Dealer. For the most part, it can be true. However, like any job in the whole game, you must understand that there are the party favorites (such as WHM, BRD, PLD, etc etc) and then there are those not seen as great (MNK, DRG, BST, so on). Choosing a job will require you to take that into considerion. If you want to be a DRG, because of how people view dragoons, you REALLY need to know the job and pull the weight in your party, moreso than most.

But un, back on the subject of gilsellers... I had to party with one... Moggie hates it.

Otherwise, I don't go NM hunting :3

Not really too much you can do. In most cases with NM camping, if you're not botting/in a group like them, you won't win. The latest patch was supposed taru help with the gilseller problem with discouraging listing fees taru lower prices (failed), and altering NM spawn points (not sure how this has worked out) to give more people a chance taru claim the baddies.

On Cerberus there ish a group of taliban gilsellers who hunt lower-tier HNM such as Simurgh and Serket, and do everything in their power taru MPK you if you beat them in Garlaige. In this case, the only thing you can do ish simply be better than them. Beat 'em to the pull, and don't die when they train you. :3

In other words, aside from hoping for new and better patches that (continue to?) alleviate the problem, and possibly make that occasional GM call (probably not even worth it X3), there isn'taru a thing you can do but try taru keep your back turned against the issue.

I would like to see more respect for DRG, since it my my favorite job. Please dont say it sucks, at least not in my presence, since I respect your job, I would like some more for mine. I know how to be a DRG, and my brother also does. We are not that useless as people say, and that can only be understood being a DRG. So what if I say your job is the worst job in the game? Would you like it? I am sorry to know that there is not respect for DRG here either. Maybe someday people will understand and learn to respect others' choices and likes.
Please have a good day.

And for Typo, you got a good point there. Maybe that is what everyone should do. But again, there is a problem that cant be solved that way, and it is the price problems in the AH. :( Thank you for your advice.

The real problem has never been the gil-sellers.

The real problem is the dumb people that are willing to pay 7 millions for a Peacock Charm, 5 millions for a Scorpion Harness, etc. That discourages people who turn to other options for getting the money. Some people are so rich that they don't care paying a few hundreds dollars to get an item instantly. So as long as there will be items that are worth way too much compared to the real benefits they give you, there will be people that won't stand the hours of boredom (mining, fishing, farming, etc.) to get and so there always will be demand for gil-sellers.

I wouldn't care, because I don't play anymore. And even if I did, I wouldn't care.

I respect you for choosing DRG and sticking with it, and I'm not trying to mock you or something. You know how to do your job? Great, all the more power to you.

Yep, with the Midgardsormr Server is the same problem, Gil sellers overcamp NMs and train mobs to camp areas 24/7, and then they sell their items at a highly economic price, right now a pair of Leaping Boots in my server are over 800-900k right now, just thx to them. And there is really nothing you can do about it to stop it, there have being alliances made in the past made only to stop the gil sellers problem, but since economy is based on the majority of them, they release a huge amount of their kind to every corner therefore, makin it almost impossible to deal. And with the DRG problem, Aerith...in my opinion DRG is one of the jobs ever, I really like it, but I dun think they hate it because gil sellers use them for their petty antics, people dun like DRG outside this problem, they just dislike them cuz of their nature, DRG is a job tough to handle, cuz once DRG hits a certain lvl, he's attacks miss too much in exp partys anyways, very much like DRKs, so DRGs are not wanted much in pts for that fact, and cuz not everybody can afford two pairs of Sniper Rings which increase accuracy, so meaning...when DRG hits at least lvl 45 almost all of their equipments must...and IS a MUST have accuracy bonuses, from weapon, to boots, almost all of their equipment must increase his accuracy for them to be really efficent in an exp pt, if not I'm afraid people will not invite a DRG over unless they at least have a pair of Sniper Rings with them, but no worries, I love DRG too so is okay, dun listen too much about what ppl say or not say about them ^^

Ohh yea Aerith, is nice too meet someone from Puerto Rico too ^^ hope we see each other again ^^ any doubt just PM, although I'm new in this forum ^^

Actually i have a drg 41 currently and I had more trouble LFG with monk! It really doesn't "suck." None of the jobs "suck", just in your opinion they do. As for gil sellers, they suck! Leviathan doesnt have as much trouble as you are describing, Aerith. I cant believe how negligent Square Enix is being towards these fun-suckers!
