Yeah, me too. I've been reading some of the absolutely unmitigated filth that some of the vile, subhuman garbage piles with access to the internet who post here have vomited out all over the forum. Despite how infinitely superior I am to them I find myself compulsively drawn to reading every word they post. I just read one five minutes ago that caused me to shit myself and vomit all over myself simultaneously, and start pissing everywhere, and since I wasn't wearing pants the piss got all over my keyboard and my monitor, so while I was typing out a post about how inappropriate and disgusting their post was, I got piss all over my hands too. Then I started trying to stop all the vomit from coming out of my mouth with my hands but that got some of the piss in my mouth with the vomit and the vomit all over my hands. Then I kept shitting too so I had to try to stop that with my hands and I got shit all over my hands and a bunch of vomit and piss stuck up my ass.

Man, I can't believe the absolutely worthless, sickening posts that some people make here.

Haven't actually sat down and read a book simply for pleasure for quite a while, as I've been so busy with academic work, but I did start reading The Lord of the Rings again last year sometime... I hope to continue at some point. Also, I'd love to re-read Watership Down as well.

The other series I was reading over a year ago for the second time was the first phase of the Warrior Cats books by pseudonym Erin Hunter. Books 1-3 particularly are absolutely incredible. I'd love to see a faithful film adaptation (oxymoron, I know) one day.

The one I often find myself quoting isn't from Walden but from one of his letters to a certain Blake: "It is not enough to be industrious; so are ants."
What a marvelous, though often too self-righteous, mind.

I'm totally on you with this, without the optimism. Thing is... at the time of Skyfall, Adele had already gone above and beyond in establishing herself as a phenomenal artist. She's rarely had a miss. Sam Smith will likely never be a musician of her calibre.

I always try to be optimistic, because you never know how something will turn out. I was not happy about Adele and now I love SkyFall. But you're exactly right, and it's the same thought I had: Sam Smith is not on the same level as Adele was 3 years ago. I think he's won a few awards, but by that time Adele already had several Grammys under her belt.

Reading up the release information for Scream Factory's 3-disc Collector's Edition for "Army of Darkness".
Scream Factory: Army of Darkness Collector's Edition Blu-ray Release Detailed (http://www.blu-ray.com/news/?id=17546)

Theatrical & Director's Cut look to be the same transfer as all previous releases out there.
Except the Theatrical cut will have "color correction".
Given SF's history (Ravenous), I am skeptical.

However!
Disc 3 will have a newly 4K Remastered transfer for the "International Cut".

Q: Is the U.S. Theatrical version a new transfer?
A: Unfortunately, we were not able to do a new transfer of the theatrical cut (which was
provided by our partners at Universal). However, we did do additional color correction.

Will be incredibly cautious.

Q: Why is the International version a 4K transfer and not the Director's Cut?
A: Our original intention was to do a new 4K scan on the director's cut, so we started with
elements that were available in the MGM vault. Unfortunately, we could not find all of the
additional footage (film and audio) for the 96 minute Director's Cut.

Bummer. At least they're all in one place now.

I don't care much for all the NEW special features. I haven't even watched anything from the Original Trilogy as far as special features go.

Television Version With Additional Footage (90 min., Standard Definition (1.33:1), DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0)

o_O Standard Definition (SD) with DTSHDMA ???
That's like giving a DVD a DTSHDMA track, even though it's not DVD specification; but since this will be on BD, it's within specification of BD.

Should be neat-ish.
:rofldata: IF it's like censored, it'll be a riot to watch.

I might want to get into this.
Would love to archive all of them.

AND THE WORLD NEEDS MORE DRAGONS.

There WAS a movie, losslely based on the first book.

Looks like the world is shifting away from Greek mythology and getting with Egyptian mythology.

All we need is a few solid Roman films with actual Roman gods and not fake stuff where they're alive "off-screen"/"in our hearts" crap.

Then, they can make an "Age of Mythology" movie. Trilogy.
Which, btw, is getting a new expansion after all these years. :awsm:

Reading an article in Variety on just how thoroughly "Pan" flopped at the box office. (Made roughly $15 million and the movie cost $150 million. That means in order to make a profit "Pan" would have to take in $400 million.)

Another write off for Warners in a very bad year that includes "Jupiter Ascending," "Man From UNCLE," and "We Are Your Friends." Warner execs are probably sacrificing goats and praying "Batman v Superman" becomes a license to print money.

I'm sure there are a fair amount of original screenplays and ideas floating around in Hollywood... it's just the executives who have no idea how to make films trying to piggyback off someone else's success with, as you say, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, reboots, etc., which becomes a greater priority than utilizing the original ideas.

True, Don't Get Me Wrong Some Sequels, Requels And Re-Boots I Like But It Starts To Get A Bit Boreing. Seeing New Original Ideas Is Great.

I Know A Lot Of Recent Films Have Been Based on Books & Video Games, But At Least Its Different.

Killgrave
10-11-2015, 06:48 PM
When I saw the trailer for "Pan" it reminded me of the trailer for "Jupiter Ascending": they both smelled of failure. I mean if Spielberg couldn't make "Peter Pan" work with "Hook" that alone should have been a red flag. But, Warner wants and needs another franchise a la "Harry Potter" and Warner probably thought this was its golden ticket. (YA is the flavor of the day.) As to why Warner decided on "Peter Pan" is a mystery. Was anyone clamoring for its prequel?

However, Hollywood makes prequel and sequels because 1) audiences like them because a majority of the viewing public are intellectually lazy since, 2) prequels and sequels are pre-sold to audiences, you don't need to start from zero and explain them and 3) occasionally a sequel such as "Jurassic World" becomes the years biggest money maker (that is until "The Force Awakens" hits the screens.)

So until audiences get behind and support original films, prequels and sequels are here to stay.

James (The Disney Guy)
10-11-2015, 06:54 PM
I Didn 't Mind Jupiter Ascending, It Had Some Good Special Effects And The Score, Was Not To Sold on Some of the Cast.

Hook, I Love That Film, But I Adore Robin Williams' Films, Hook Always Was A Fav When I Was Young, I Enjoyed the Peter Pan Film (The Jason Issacs One) It Was Fun, Well Cast And Great Score (Disney Always My Fav) But Pan Didn't Really Appeal To Me, I Will Watch It When Its Cheap And In The Sale Bin.

As I Said I Like Some Prequels And Sequels But Sometime Beg For Some New Stuff.

But I Don't Know What I Am Talking About, Clearly Lots Of People Prefer Them..

But seriously, why Ant-Man? Sure it was a good movie, but certainly not a movie deserving of so many channels. Couldn't Interstellar get that? Or maybe The Dark Knight? Some Zimmer film where I could use all that lol

Ant-Man has made, so far, $500 million worldwide. So much for it being the ugly stepsister to Marvel's Avengers: AoU or the departure of Edgar Wright would doom the film, as some forecasted.

Since I'm doing a T2 complete rip now, I figured I'd read some fun facts about the film.

According to James Cameron, Linda Hamilton suffered a permanent hearing loss in one of her ears during the elevator shootout because she had not installed her ear plugs after removing them during a trip to the restroom between takes.

Saw this shared on Facebook about the red cup issue of Starbucks. I couldn't agree more.

This morning I saw something on The Today Show that absolutely blew my brain. Apparently Starbucks has redesigned the look of their annual holiday cup and people are up in arms over the change. Like, REALLY up in arms. As in folks are so furious that it's become national news.

Seriously? Over a cup? I guess these stiffs are angry because they feel this year's cup doesn't accurately represent the holiday season. Gone are the snowflakes, snowmen, and mistletoe from years past and in their place is a simple red cup with a green Starbucks logo. As a result, Starbucks now stands accused of waging a war on Christmas. ARE YOU PEOPLE FOR REAL?

We've got ISIS planting on bombs on passenger planes, children being sold into sexual slavery, millions of Syrian refugees wondering where their next meal will come from and you folks are screaming about a cup? If that isn't absurd, I don't know what is. Tell me something... How does this even begin to compare to the REAL problems we face? Like the single mother who struggles to put food on her table? Or the grief-stricken father who's losing his son to cancer? There's absolutely NO comparison.

And it's only because your life is so blessed and carefree that you even have the luxury of getting your Rudolph the Reindeer knickers in a twist over something so petty. So Starbucks redesigned their cup with a minimalist theme. So what? It's not a war on Christmas, an assault on your belief system or an attack on traditional values. It's a cup. Plain and simple. So here's a thought for you... Instead of trying to change the cup, be thankful you can afford the cup. Trust me, the fact that you're even standing in line at a Starbucks means your life is pretty damn good. So focus on that instead. Life is way too short to get your panties in a wad over something so petty and insignificant.

So now that we're clear, won't you join me for a Starbucks coffee with a side of holiday cheer? I certainly hope so. Oh, and don't forget to bring your shiny red cup.

All the best,

Austin Blood

Don't ya hate 2015? Because I sure hate it. Why, how. How are humans so stupid, that the technology advancements, instead of making us better, it's just dumbing us down. I honestly love it, I don't drink Starbucks, but I love it because it's red and I love red.

Currently reading an article that says the last Hunger Games movie isn't doing well in box office, even though it has had more than ten millions in US and worldwide 200+, I think. They say it's doing bad because the first movie was about propaganda and this one is about war, "and you can't sell war, with the happenings of Paris lately" or "People are saving up for what's thought to be the biggest cinema launch of the year, Star Wars 7"

Yeah, a stupid article overall.

James P.Sullivan

Currently reading an article that says... this one is about war, "and you can't sell war, with the happenings of Paris lately"

Now THIS kind of sentiment really annoys me. I understand how (for example) setting about making a film about some kind of war in Europe, starting production after the Paris attacks, would be kinda insensitive, but for goodness' sake, Hunger Games is a friggin' movie franchise that has been in the works for years ever since the books became popular, so to say that they shouldn't be showing it because of Paris is utter stupidity. There is war going on around the globe the entire time. Just because it hit closer to home this time doesn't mean we have to cancel anything and everything that is about war.

PonyoBellanote
11-23-2015, 12:08 PM
No, this is just an article of a movie news portal. It's a personal opinion of the writer, doesn't mean the movie should stop being screened because the happenings of Paris, the author thinks the movie isn't doing well in box office (which is not true, it started a little less big than the others but by no means it's a flop like they kinda are trying to put it) because of the incidents, but that's really stupid. Ah, I also forget he also mentioned a reason would be that the people who started watching the movies have grown up already, that's even more stupid, a fan of a franchise always ends the thing..

Reading a Blu-ray.com user review I made of All Dogs Go To Heaven 2's Blu-ray back in 2014. I was impressed when I finished it and I still am, right now I couldn't write a thing like that even if I tried hurt. It's still really nice, even with a few mistakes, not gramatical, but about the Blu-ray's picture and movie overall. You can read it:

All Dogs Go to Heaven.. a grainy one, indeed.

Probably motivated by the video sucess of the original movie, Don Bluth's All Dogs Go to Heaven (1989), MGM decided to do a sequel as it was the trend in the late 90s. The difference is, that they did it for a theatrical release instead of the Disney-typical video release. And if it's done theatrically, it means more budget, and more budget results in good quality. That's basically what describes the movie.

All Dogs Go To Heaven 2 starts basically where the first one ended; Charlie (Charlie Sheen, curiously funny) is living in the heaven as expected, but isn't really enjoying life in there. When Gabriel's Horn is stolen and lost in San Francisco, Charlie, in a attempt to get back to the Earth, offers himself to retrieve it, going with his friend Itchy (Dom DeLouise). This is where our story begins, and there he finds the gorgeous female Sasha La Fleur (voiced by the wonderful pop singer of the 80s, Sheena Easton) and the young 8 year old kid, David, who ran away from home. Charlie will have to find the horn and keep it away from Red, an evil demon cat.

When you hear about a sequel, normally anyone thinks about a terrible direct-to-video cheapquel intended for money profit. And you don't expect nothing good after knowing MGM did the awful sequel of The Secret of Nihm, another Don Bluth masterpiece. Well, in this case, I recommend fully viewing and giving it a chance. ADGTH2 was beautifully made, has a entertaining script, and not the soft easy-to-predict one you'd expect on a sequel. Filled with funny dialogues and voice talents, the movie manages to keep you on hold for some good 83 minutes where you'll find catchy good looking songs and scenes that will entertain and keep your children quiet, but parents will also find it good. Basically, resuming, it's a good sequel that may even surpass or have a heart near the first one instead of humiliating it like others do. I'm not saying this one is better, because it's different, and K can't say nothing bad of anything the great Don Bluth makes. But it certainly has a heart and is enjoyable.

I could go on about telling how I feel about this movie - but I already explained myself enough and I'm forgetting I'm reviewing the Blu-ray itself. Well, it was released back in March 2011 along the first one, wich I have, and must say it's got a pretty good looking restoration. It comes on a eco-friendly plastic case with a decent new cover and a simple disc with serigraphy. The video is something really debatable, anyone will have his opinion. I, myself, I'm pretty satisfied with it, for reasons I'll explain later.

I can deduce by the video quality for this release, that Fox picked up his original film print kept in their shelf and scanned it from a 35 mm source. That is good at first, since it's done for this release and 35 mm is a bigger quality than 1080p itself. The thing is.. they didn't remaster it. The original print pretty much seems to look fine not to need restoration, since the movie was done 18 years ago. But if you take a 18 year old film and show it just how it is, with no restoration, and put it in high definition is it highly probable the grain and film defects will be easily seen with the amplified image. And it is most seen in the heaven scenes where the colors bleed a little, and the most defect you'll see in the movie is natural grain (hence the title). However at the end I'm pretty satisfied by the master release. Yes, it is excesively grainy in some scenes to the point the colors will bleed a little, but at least they didn't apply ugly DNR or other artifacts that modify the original colors. Since the film was a 35 mm, the high definition is still there - and looks really GREAT to my eyes. It comes presented on its original aspect ratio, 1:85, encoded on MPEG-4 AVC. Us movie puritans should really be satisfied that the master comes straight true to the original material and not modifieed at any form, because at the end, the video still looks pretty good looking.

The audio is another good thing - the english audio comes in a DTS-HD MA 5.1 mix, wilch sounds pretty good with the film's songs, dialogues and great orchestral music. Another good point is, that according to the credits, the movie was mixed in DTS, so again we are getting a high quality losless audio mix straight from the original print. Aditionally, two lower latinoamerican spanish and french audios are offered in a simple Dolby Stereo.

And the last part to talk about is the special features. Now this blu-ray is rather dull in this part, it includes a simple original theatrical trailer, wich comes in high definition. As a rather curious fact it also comes straight from the film, since it has the same grain artifacts. I know it's little but since it's HD, I'm pretty satisfied with it. Besides, I wasn't looking for the extras but the movie itself.

At the end, this sequel is pretty good looking, I myself love the movie and I'm pretty satisfied with this release. What else can we expect from this movie? It's enough that we got it on Blu-ray. With a grainy, but faithful to the original source master, I recommend this blu to any fan of the movie that just wants to upgrade to high definition. For the price and what the movie has to offer, it's pretty worth the money.

I think it was pretty apt.
The grain retention and too much grain giving color bleeding is just about all you need to know.
As far as technical subjectivity goes, he nailed it.
I haven't watched it, but when it comes to grainy sources, that's pretty much what you want to hear since it wasn't given a DNR treatment.
Color bleeding is natural if it doesn't get touched up slightly.

That "he" was me. I wrote that in January 2014. I oughta re-watch the Blu-ray now and see how it stands to my eyes, but still to this day from what I remember, it looks quite better than the first movie, there's scenes when there's a lot of definition and color; the grain is not ANNOYING, except in a scene where the color completely goes down and changes in a heaven scene. But come to think of it the whole heaven scenes have a saturated, down color but I believe that's just how it was done. The picture overall is still nice and, for a catalog title of less importance, wasn't really treated wrong, and the fact that there's no DNR, detail is there and the grain is natural, it's fine.

I go Christmas shopping and return to my thread closed. What the fuck.

I do not have stuff to share like sessions or the skills to make a film edit or DVD rip.

I just post (occasionally) a disney album or my VA Tv series osts. I know they are not really liked or anything.

But i would not hesitate to post/share them.

Its my way of shareing and thanking those who share what they have with me either openly via a link or via a "pm me for link thread" i also make up for it with my occasional cover making.

I am greatful for everything i have aquired here. It means so much to me that the people here want to share with me or talk to me.

But then the few who like to ruin it and post those spiteful comments, make it horrible, and peoplr stop or leave and i see why and respect them for it.

I'd also share sessions if I had them, with the public, but you know we have to understand most of the times, in the trades, people are told not to openly post them, or there'd be consequences (aka not receiving anymore exclusive music) I don't know if any of you guys would sacrifice that over bringing music for everyone.

Have John Boyega - Finn of Force Awakens - play Roland as a young Gunslinger.

The film would have to deviate from the book. For example, I don't think the film would work incorporating, as the books did, a fictional version of Stephen King. So making Detta hate Roland for being a black man in service to a white regime wouldn't be a big lift. And hate is never rational, except to the hater.

So interesting reading Zimmer's creative thinking process on TASM2:

"Sorry it's taken me this long to get back with some thoughts - I've been ill like a dog, and now I give you the way-past-midnight thoughts of a composer...

But, simply out - it can't (and it isn't) be emphasized enough that he is "One Of A Kind". DNA and spider serum. So he is the one that's different - his cross to bear is to live a life of loneliness. Isolate him. He might be charming, kind and good-looking, but still he has a responsibility to his powers (I wouldn't call it a "gift". What sort of "gift" condemns you to solitude). Isolate him. See how charming plays then.

He's only questions. No answers. The answers will bring him to a lie.

There's a girl problem. She loves him. But she will love him sooo much that it will kill her. Modern girl -"don't you try to protect me, even thou I don't have your powers and still- the whole fucking world is after me...." Modern girl thinks she understands. But it's one thing intellectualizing it, it's quite another to really feel it...

But her DNA is just as strong, she is a fully formed, capable human being with her own dreams an imagination. With her own rights.

But we expect the girl to die. We just have to push the carousel, give it an emotional nudge. Like "Harry, my blood can't safe you..." (Is that enough to turn a basically decent chap like Harry - who doesn't " Do" complicated, into a murderous beast? And are we - the scientist in me says "no"- archiving this?)

I'm way beyond writing past midnight, so bear with my rumblings:

He is isolated through his condition and moral compass. His friend are going mad.
He is singular.
He is Loney, and it will get so much worse.

AND UNCLE JIMMY (wots his name?!) WAS RIGHT!!! He ne'er understood, never saw it coming...

But there are two glimmers in the sky: Gwen and the young boy (Max is cooking up meth and Harry is contemplating his secretary ...or world-domination. (I'd like to know what side he'd come down on.)

But he's super lonely, too. And the shards of ice push closer into what's left of his humanity - his only fried. Peter Parker. "So peter, if I can't live, you can't love. And you know what they say...to have burned brightly, passionately - could something so profoundly noble and right be wrong? Oh, to have loved just once.... What is that old promise I gave, for her love, I'd give everything. I'd move to LONDON.

But you have no choice in the matter. Not you, with your DNA and spider- ness.

But that little boy, the on you saved - no, not MAX, but the GOOD VERSION of Max.
Him you still can safe.

Peter, you are not the Icon. The Boy is. YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THIS. He lets us in to your world, identify with you. He is us at our most human.

As he stands there, in front of Tienamahn Square, frightened , but knows full well someone, somebody has to do the right thing.... He will do it. HE WILL. HE's brave beyond his years. he cares. It will kill him, but a world without heroes...? He will do it, because to him it's inconceivable not to believe. In the Good that is Spider-Man. . And he waits. Like David and Goliath. Like the boy at Tienamen square.

Spider-Man sees him from behind , lays his gloved hand on his shoulder, and explains to him that each one has what the other so desperate needs: the boy is pure, has courage and a beautiful moral comprehension. But he could never do it. back to the singular Dna...Spider-Man is the hollow man. But as he looks into the kids eyes, he sees a glimmer of his former self in him. Something well saving for. Something to safe for Gwenn. And as he gets up, he knows that he will be such in this DNA mutation forever, lonely but purposeful. He needs to unchain his Heart and let the love back in. There are people that love him. But, right now, know one seems to understand him like the little kid in his poor, Spider-Man onecy.

You can promise a whole city something and not really mean it. Buy you can't promise that to a little kid... The kid Is You. The kid has you courage, decency and heart. But you have the DNA!

Just some mad rambling 3.30 am talk, with a fever....

Forgive me"

"Just to keep you in the loop... I'm in New York, just about to meet with Lia and Alicia to see if we can knock our song into the right shape... I've been a bit round the clock, so I don't know if I told you - I've got a new 'Harry' theme."

" I know it's none of my business and I'm overstepping... But shouldn't we look at the movie one more time with the fixes?

I'm only saying this because I know that the sound on this thing will hugely effect how much people will enjoy this...

So, I apologize for meddling, but I'd rather you hated me for mentioning a creeping suspicion than you hating me for not being candid and honest... "

"I can't wait to hear the music everyone one is so excited
When you worked with chris did you guys ever show unfinished footage to journalists that hasn't been scored and all that ?
No, never! We don't even show it to the studio or preview without at least all the synth demos in...

Some of the stuff just wouldn't make sense without the music in "Inception", for instance...

And The Joker always had his sound before we showed it to anybody...

This is for your eyes only, please...

Well, we try to get the tone for the whole thing right. I think - especially with a big superhero movie - it's important that the music sounds new and not familiar (yet serves the iconic idea of a hero). People think they've seen it all before if their ears tell them it's the same old orchestral bullshit (my bullshit included), it doesn't matter how inventive the action is. I just remember seeing the opening "Midnight Express" for the first time, and thinking I'd never seen anything like it. But it was really that it sounded so different...

It's been like wrestling with bears to come up with a modern version of an iconic theme - with Mark being great at pushing for that. It might just be a few notes, but it took me three weeks of despair to get to something where the tone was heroic and familiar, but the colors and production are modern ...and that we where truly excited about yesterday..."

"Things to look at - of the top of my head...
Is the opening and Airplane more compelling and emotional and exciting?
Is the truck chase less conventional and does the graduation speech deliver as best as it can?
Time square... I gave them a diamond and they turned it into coal. :-(
Do the Harry/Peter Parker scenes still drag?
Do we get an emotional sweep through the Roosevelt scene (so it actually feels special AND shorter...)
Is the Electro/Spider-Man fight as fun as it can be, and is exciting without being assaultive so we than have somewhere and have some gravitas left for the Clocktower?"

DAK, Terminator 2 is being converted to 3D, in 2016 for its 25th Anniversary, though, it's being done for China, where Terminator and Schwarzenneger is a huge thing.

May come to USA too.

What's your source?

That'd be awesome, as long as the conversion is supervised by Cameron. I'd kill to see it in theaters. I was a little young to see an R-rated film like that in 1991, first time I saw it was on this ancient format called VHS.

If 'Family Circus' Didn't Suck (http://www.cracked.com/blog/pg13-family-circus/)

I read the comics every day and I hate the Family Circus. It's nice to finally read some that don't suck.

Answer not "anser." Get it right Ollie.

And I'm reading the next season of Doctor Who will probably be Capaldi's last.

Perhaps we'll finally get a female Doctor Who. I nominate Hayley Atwell (Agent Carter.)
