Id like your elaboration on why there was not any blood on sephiroths sword after it being jammed through aeris sinal column and through her lower intestines tearing through flesh like a surgeons knife on a stick of butter

sorry for the detail...i felt it necesary (i cant spell)

but if you would elaborate for me i would appreciate it becuase myself and my friends debate this topic almost daily

Someone told me once that theres no blood because sephy's sword is a special sword that allows no blood to touch its blade...i think the person called it a bloodletter or sumthing....but thats what i ehar
Yah so what i think is that sephy's sword is unable to be tainted by blood.

Or it could be due to Censorship reasons =-O =)

Well, its probably the blood bit, because there isn't much censorship everywhere else (eg swearing). Its probably the sword.

i find it disturbing that ur friends debate about it everyday. get over it. but it may be the lack of good graphics or sumthing

Well isnt sephs sword the masamune blade?

its not that his sword prevents blood because in the end his sword has blood on it and he is covered in blood because cloud kicked his ass with omnislash.

Well my guess... they (Squaresoft) didn't put the blood in because they probably didn't feel it necessary.

The other thing is that if Sephy's sword is a bloodblade (that's the correct term for a sword that cannot be tainted by blood) why does it have blood on in all the pics of him....? It is more likely a vampiric blade (one that absorbs blood and heals the user)

lol... wellz.. if u want to get technical.... in japan... there are 2 kinda of swords that are that long.. the masamune and the marsamune... something like that.... one is suposidly the blood sword and one is the anit-blood sword. the masamune absords the blood if it ever got tainted with it, and the other had blood on it if it ever cut somebody.....

maybe its just sucky animation.

No guys i know the reason. The masamune is a specail sword calling on eneriges from everywhere around it. When it stabbed aeris it sucked the blood into the sword and locked it there. Im not lying this is the reason. I researched it

thats what i said.... .... ... .. . and i did some resurch a while ago on it as well....

Uhhh... that's nice. You obviously didn't find any reputable sources though. Whatever it is you're talking about sounds like part of a very poor interpretation of the story of Masamune and Murasame.

what about the blood trail in shinra when sephiroth kicks ass blood there.

It's most likely that Square forgot to add the blood, or that they ran out of time to finish everything

Prak

Or that they just left the blood out of that scene because killing the character was enough. Adding blood and gore would just disturb people and make it shocking rather than sad.

yep what prak said now lock this thread.

There was no great necessity for it and they probably hadn't figured out anything that complex graphics-wise.

Prak had a really good point about that shocking the player thing...........i htink it could be just for the effect of making it more sad than shocking to

good call on that one prak

altho everyone else has equally strong points.........it could be a blood/vampiric blade ......but it could also be sucky animation due to the ago of the game HAHAH (not dissing the game)

personally i like to think its because of the fact that it could be a blood/vampiric blade

It would be cool if it was a vampire blade, but Prak's explanation seems most logical.

Prak is right...Also in Final Fantasy X when Kimahri pierces Seymour, blood doesn't...appear...(Can't find the right word, sorry)Now some people could say that Seymour was already dead, but I have the opinion that if blood appeared, the game could be called violent...And violence and gore is not the core of Final Fantasy games(the opposite are games such us:Resident Evil,Dino Crisis. The more(blood)the better...)

I think the blood is left out, because it really isn't necessary. It would have made more sense to have it, but we all know what happened to her, and showing blood wouldn't make a difference. I don't know. The fact is, they left it out.

Maybe Square just forgot to put blood in.
