Good morning everyone. So, another magical post on my list today is my complete and edited version to Walt Disney's "Pocahontas:. For this 2 disc anniversary edition, i used all releases available(including my blu ray copy, the original soundtrack, the legacy collection, song instrumentals, and previous edits done by previous users).

ABOUT THIS EDITION: This 2 disc collection involves a total of 76 tracks total(42 on the first disc, 34 on the other[not including the m3u playlist]). I will be making an isolated score video when i find out how to rip my blu ray(even when its copy protected) There have also been swapped channels for some tracks, but i think i went ahead and fixed them before i made the RAR file.

Sources used:
- My blu ray
- Original soundtrack
- The Legacy Collection
- My previous edit

Tools used:
- Audacity (for editing)
- ? (For echoing correctly)
- ? (for noise removal of dvd tracks)

Enjoy and say thanks.

So, i made the isolated music track(indicating that not everything is instrumental, songs have been untouched) and just converted it to ac3 to open it with the 10th Anniversary Edition file.

To open both... i used vlc media player.
For users that have VLC: Open Multiple Files-> Add Video File-> Show More Options-> Play another media-> Browse-> Add ac3 file
For other users using who knows what: ?

I'm downloading it now. Did you include the extended finale with the unused portion of IF I NEVER KNEW YOU and alternate instrumental finale? (The extended version on the 10th anniversary DVD is still missing a few lines of the song that were recorded. That was my biggest issue with the LEGACY release....) I wasn't sure if you're aware that this exists.

No, I do have the 10th anniversary edition on my laptop.... i didn't even know it added those extra lines.

Here's the full version from the original 1996 LD release:

I don't know why the latter wasn't included on the new CD release as a bonus feature. While I understand why the rest of the reprise was dropped in the 10th anniversary cut, I kinda like the instrumental afterward where it combines IF I NEVER KNEW YOU we COLORS OF THE WIND. It would have been great on CD! :D

Hi, I've noticed that the version of Steady as the Beating drum included in "The Legacy" and in this edition has muted a flute that has to play at minute 01:05, it is there in the movie version and in all the previous versions of this song. That's a really strange mistake.
Also the song has a different sound at the horn parts, not exactly the same played in the film.
I wonder if you can include a "Film version" of this song, I mean with the missing flute and the original horn sounds. Thnx.

Thanks for sharing! If you don't mind, can you tell me what source is the first opening 30seconds of If I Never Knew You? If I'm correct, it isn't on the Legacy Collection CD (the first track opening the second disc in the box set). Has this been released in any CD form? Thanks for answering!

I used the first 30 seconds of that in a previous edit i used to make an expanded edition a while back.

Could the film have an edit and that segment be part of another cue? It's so strange for them not including it in the oficial Legacy collection set...

I think it is definately an edit. The first part comes directly from 'they meet at the river's edge'. I havent located the second part yet. Maybe from 'farewell'

Prince Jay

Yes and no.

The first part(when Pocahontas walks in John's prison): "They Meet at the River's Edge"
the second part(after the first few seconds and incoming dialogue): "Unknown part"

I see! Thanks for shedding some light on this! :) I now know why this is not included in the CD - you've taken some clips and put them together. :) At first I thought this was strange, but now I know. Thank you very much for explaining! :)
- no harm intended. I'm sorry to sound like this, but this is what I'm thinking now. :)

I actually, like some or most people, have the 10th anniversary edition(including the bluray)... That's how i got the full track of "If I Never Knew You" and the instrumental reprise of "Farewell"

OK, i finally identified the unkown part. It's from the actual if i never knew you song, arround 2:14 in the legacy collection track. up until Smith sings "and i'm so grateful to you"

So it's a film edit made by the editors of the film. Nice, since it means the legacy set is not missing it, but sad because it was a beautiful intro... :P

Jayasaurus, it would be a great addition to your set if you could somehow extract the vocals from the full reprise of "if i never knew you" from this video and add them to the farewell track.

I was also expecting disney to include this extened ending in the legacy set :(

Thanks for identifying it. I agree it would have been a beautiful intro indeed! But let's be happy with what we've got now that Disney has offered us most of the fat, if you know what I mean. :) I'm happy with this set, and my friend will bring the CD with him when he comes to China next weekend. He has agreed to help me buy it. Yay! - I'll have the music soon!

Also, the intro of the song is much shorter than the one in the movie, too many seconds missing here and in every previous release of this soundtrack. A "film version" of Steady as the beating drum is still missing and Disney even spoils the Legacy Collection's version by taking out a flute in the middle of the song (by accident I supose)...

First off, I want to thank you for taking the time to produce this excellent (definitive) soundtrack; I think we all needed that.

Now for those keeping score, here's the skinny on the commercial movie discs.
Disney put out a 10th anniversary DVD with both missing scenes (If I Never Knew You) re-inserted back into the film; that's the good news.

I just purchased the 15th Anniversary BluRay, thinking it would contain the 10th edition.
Well to my dismay, the BluRay contained the "old" version without the scenes; apparently Disney took them back out.
Futher, the BluRay box set also contained a DVD with Pocahontas on it. And, yes you guessed it, the "old" version as well.
ARGH!!!!

A "film version" of Steady as the beating drum is still missing and Disney even spoils the Legacy Collection's version by taking out a flute in the middle of the song (by accident I supose)...

I think the film version beginning of 'Beatin drum' is an edit, a looped segment, taken from the beggining of the song in the album, as you can hear the same drums and bass rythm. I think they just muted the singing (surely it was recorded sepparately) and so, in the film the same segment is repeated twice, one without choir and then the propper beginning of the song plays.

About the horns and muted flute, they sound like synth. So it was overlayed to the orchestra track. In the film....maybe it's part of the sound effects... and they couldnt locate the source, they created the synth to mimic that sound... the album version also had them but they sound different too. This new synth version sound closer to the film.

I think the LEGACY collectiong is practically complete, with the exception of the missing flute (easily edited from the OST) and the drum insert in council meeting (again it could have been made editorially with the drum rythm from the same track, maxed up in volume....) One bit from the film version of the score that i cannot locate is part of the ending of Ship at sea. The oboe (or something) playing some notes from virginia company. the subsequent notes in synth flute-chimes sound very similar to the ending of the next track 'Governor ratcliffe'.
