Hey everyone, I haven't beaten all of them but my favorite ending is 8 I was just wondering what everyone elses favorite was, AND why was it the best ending EVER?

Hi, welcome (once again - heh) to the Shrine. Please, topics should be started in sections based on what they're really about. While you're saying that your favorite is Final Fantasy VIII's, what the topic is really about is favorite endings for all Final Fantasy games. So this should be in General Final Fantasy, which is where I'm about to move it.


Oh, and my personal favorite is Final Fantasy IX's. Final Fantasy VI's had the best music, but I thought the worst overall, save the earlier ones that didn't really have much of anything. Oh, and why? I thought FFIX's was moving and truly surprised me. The first half of FFVI's ending was good, but the second half left me disappointed. Although the stuff they added into the PSX version was a good edit.


One other thing --- there may already be an active topic like this in Gen FF, so for all I know, this could get closed soon after I move it.

I gotta agree with Agent0042, I liked FFIX's ending the best...

I like the ending of FF-VIII the most. It had everything in it.....happiness, and a bit of sadness....just the way I like it. :)

FFVIII.........yet FFVI's comes close.....

I would say FFVII, because that was the first Final Fantasy I ever bought, so the ending was the most exciting, seeing as I was 9 :P

Hmm, probably the ending to Final Fantasy VIII. FFVII was the first one that I beat, but the ending wasn't very satisfiying to me.

I have got to agree that the ending to Final Fantasy VIII was the best mainly because it was the most fulfilling. Dude VIII rules true I've got to say VII is the best. =)

FF VII. Loved it, but it made me cry.

FF9 it made me sad but in a good way plus it was really good aswell :)

and just so i know (i forgot) did Kuja survive cause i remember Zidane going into the lifa tree to save him?

It was a happy ending and i thought it wasw kinda funny how Vivi had all those little baby like black mages with him

Erm haryuu no --- hate to tell you this (this may be a bit of a shock), but as far anybody knows, Vivi died, or ceased functioning as such. That's why Puck was talking with his son.

yea... b/c all black mages have a time period to live... im thinking that more were made like him... and ... i dont htink that they can mate... so techncally.... no son... lol..

i didn't think squall died in 8 cause he was there but he could have been a ghost. my fav was 9 cause it was the only interesting one as 10's was a bit weird, except him saying "THIS IS MY STORY". I want to see 6's but it is taking a long time against them bosses.

I think FFIX had the best ending, FF8 seemed pretty pointless to me ( the fishing and a garden party! O.o) VII was also a bit boring, I'm still leveling up for the final bosses on the others so I'll hold judgement on them

I loved all the endings in every Final Fantasy game, even FFI's but my favorite has to be Final Fantasy VIII's. It was so sweet and touching and had so much emotion in it. It made me cry, laugh, smile and say awww, so cute. It was romantic, sweet and memorable.

My fav ending was in ffx2, it was so happy ^_^ and it ended just perfect for me.

i really wanna see the ending to FFVIII, but when i was in Ultimecias castle i saved over it accidently. so now i don't wanna go through it all over again. I never went through the whole of FFIX, it was too kiddy compared to the previous 2, but thats just my opinion. X wasn't that great either, i found it a bit anti climax, as well as all the x-2 endings. So out of all those disqualifications, i pick VII. Main reason is because it was the first one i finished

my favorite one is ff X because ( sorry if I say the end ) Tidus dies. and auron too. It made me cry even though I'm a man and the men don't cry. it was very sad also because the summoning beasts all die too. It wasn't how I wanted it to finisk but it satisfied me as well.

i think FF8 has the best ending because i just liked to see that it all ended happy

FFVII's

FF7's is the best.
All them forces coming together to force back the meteor was really cool.
It was quite long as well which maked me happy.
Unlike most of the other FF's i felt fullfilled after this one, especially after the credits bit.

Well, it certainly ISN'T FF1, that's for sure. Actually, I thought FFIV had a really good ending. Of course, FFX *SPOILER WARNING* was nice in that Tidus didn't exist (I absolutely hated him; he was so irritating.) However, I don't think that was the ending's intended effect...

Well theyre all awesome but my fave has to be ff7`s , its just the only one that made ff fans think..like what really happened and most came up with their own conclusions.

i think final fantasy x had a great ending! it was so sad thoguh.

God this is a togh choice. cause both 7 & 8 were really goo endings, 6 had a good one, but I liked in 7 how it showed Aeris' face look up at you, and you got that sense and feeling that everything was going to be ok and that feeling is close to happiness ya know, kinda like a sense of feeling complete in a way. Well in Aeris' case, as you can tell she was my fav. character. 8's ending was great also, there was a whole bunch of emotion takin into account, there was the being scared, and loss (when Squall held the feather and had the visions, and when Rinoa found him lying practically dead). There was sadness ( when Laguna visited Rain's grave), Relief ( Squall wakes up), joy ( the celebration through the credits). You get what I mean, if you really get into the game and connect and feel whats happening instead of just wanting to play a game to kill things in a story then your not going to get all of what i'm saying or typing. I think it would be really cool to meet other people who think and feel as much about these games as I do.

Yea, I know I typed a lot, but i'm a writer, and an honest one. I write pretty much exactly what I say and I am a girl. Hence the length.

Well i never got to finish VIII But i would probably say X it was sad but it turned out ok.

FF7, FF8, and FF10.

7 also had a good ending. it was so suspenceful, you din't know what was gonna happen, but cool.

ffx 2 was great but if you havent played ffx it would be rily bad ending

Squall did'nt die! at 1 point well he does but rinoa revives hime somehow cause at the very ened after the credits the extra bit show squall and rinoa on the blacony just before they fly up into the moon...remember? so its all gd right ^_^

FFIX was the best for me also FF7 was wierd as was FF4 and FF but did ne one notice the music at the end of FF4 sound alot like the music from star wars?

I liked IX the best, havent beat 8 yet so dont know much about that one. VII was pretty good, and i dont think the classics should count.

my favorite ending was final fantasy 10 because it show that tidus is more mature and he knows wut he has to do

final fantasy 7 was ok kinda boring. But i like the final battle with sephrioth

It's kinda hard to determine the best ending.......

for those who doesn't like final fantasy 9's ending needs to shoot themselves cause you guys don't got no emotions. [Don't mean too insult, but thats how it is] I think that 9's is the best because the ending felt like everthing written in the story was based on it. Everything that was questionable during the game was answered in it. Those moments were the happiest moments of my life. Yuna quotes "Never forget them".

I thought IX's was incredible. I was almost in tears after i thought Zidane died and when he pulled off that cloak and dagger came running down i was highly impressed.

This ia actually a difficult questions for me to answer because they all had great endings. I would probably have to say that the ending of Final Fantasy 10 was my favourite because it was so emotional.

I liked the ending of Final Fantasy 7 a lot, but wouldn't it have been cool if there had been four different endings; 1) If you hadn't got Yuffie or Vincent during the game, 2) If you had only gotten Yuffie, 3) If you had only gotten Vincent, and 4) if you had got both Yuffie and Vincent.

Although i'm a hardcore Final Fantasy loving player, I never actually managed to get past the final bosses on each of the games as I had to sell my PS2, and my FF7 discs on my PC codged up after Cloud gave the black materia to Sephiroth.
Is there anywhere where anyone could post the endings of FF7, 8 and 9, just so I know what happens at the end of each of them, or if anyone could email the endings to me i'd be very grateful- [email protected]
I really loved the FF storylines, and i'd love to know how they end.
