I've had this game for about 2 weeks now, and so far I've only played it for about 6 1/2 hours, which is a crime in itself. Thus far, the game has been beautiful. Graphics are top notch, I mean, with the individual blades of grass, where can you go wrong? The gameplay is the same as always, good ol' MGS and Kojima. The music is fantabuluous. Presentation is up there as always.

My question is, what do you guys (girls?) think about this game?

I haven't got to play the game yet (cos PS2 broke'D)... but I wasn't too impressed by the demo I played for it. Not sure if it was the way it controlled, or the level design, or just the entire concept, but it just didn't float well with me.

And, as we all know, demos are exactly like the finished products. :)

But anyway, I'll let you guys know what I think of it after Christmas weekend... I *ahem* noticed someone wrapping it up and putting it with my other presents under the tree. :D

Which is why I didn't claim complete knowledge about the game. This statement would have actually been relevent if I had said

"Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is a horrible game. It's too short, the controls are off, the entire concept is silly, and the language is in Japanese. I know ALL of this because I played the demo."

I beat it a while back - it's awesome. The plot, the cinematography, hell, the music is just beautiful. It's brilliant. I won't spoil any of the plot because it's that great. But yeah. Beat it now.

I beat it 22 hours after it came out
It was great no guide normal you unlock from normal "Tuxdio" Patriot" and a camera you will know what I mean when I say this "The End" is the hardest, when you play you will understand that better

I beat it the week it came out and I must say it was one of the better games I have played this year. I really enjoyed the camo aspect. The only thing I didn't like about the game was the theme song, the lyrics were so lame that it killed the mood everytime I heard it.

I take it there are no accumulated spirits of dead elephants lurking beneath the jungle floor, then?

I thought it was only coming out on Gamecube...?
Anyway, I thought mgs1 was a good challenge, I loved mgs2, I did the game on European extreme and got all the dog tags. I'm not too sure about MGS:SE though, the reviews haven't been all that...=/

i have played the second one and thought it was crap because of raiden but i don't think it has come out yet over here in england but is it true that you play as big boss and not solid snake.

If you couldn't realise what it was trying to do, yeah, you'd probably say that. It's a james bond spoof.

Okay, The Sorrow is pissing me off. What do I do?

It won't let me take the Fake Death pill, either...

I had that problem as well the first time I fought The Sorrow, just wait until the end of the river and then touch him and you should die, after that you need to quickly take the revival pill. Hope this helps.

My thoughts are that I shouldn't have forgotten to bring my PS2 back with me from university for Christmas vacation.

I got MGS3 for Christmas and I'm dying to play it. I always dig the stories and characters in the MGS games, and I've heard people say that the storyline in this one is just as good as the one in the first game, and not as philosophically rambly as the storyline in the second game.

Kill everything until a point when he stops, then walk into him to take 99% of your damage. THEN take the fake death pill.

Already past that point, I didn't know you could use the revival pill rather than Continue when you get killed.

Also, Spirit Camo?

*spoilers* Anyone notice that the theme for the final boss battle sounds like 70's porno music.

No, cos playing on a difficulty level that didn't really give me time to stop and listen to music. :D

MGS3 is fucking brilliant. I really liked the opening theme song except for the 'tree frog' lyric, it comes out of nowhere and t-bones you. I beat the game in one day, 15 hours straight, I couldn't stop playing.

I really like the game from what I have played. I got the whole James Bond thing with the theme song but I still really didn't like it all.

I kind of figured there'd be James Bond spoofs throughout after that conversation with "Major Tom" where he tries to convince Snake that James Bond movies are awesome.
