Having collected various recordings of this music over the years, this 1974 Grammy Winner remains the BEST VERSION in my opinion... one critic of the day claiming it was a manic performance... and indeed it is the loudest, fastest, and most passionate.

Other critics claimed that it was an extreme rendition.
Since I have the Sony/CBS quadraphonic LP, I agree with my friend Phideas1
that it's one of the best versions I've ever heard. Brilliant performance!
Thank you for this great upload!

Petros, you are SUCH a show off! ;-)

Can not imagine what it would be like listening to this, surrounded by it. My college pals made fun of me for having at least five different versions of the music... a habit I developed early until I landed the best version of anything. Even when I had the opportunity to hear this done LIVE... that didn't come close to this recording. I think this is an example not only of the conductor experimenting with the composition but the performers REALLY REALLY REALLY getting INTO IT and having a BALL!

Enjoy it, folks, nothing comes close to shattering your stereo system and annoying your neighbors.

Petros, you are SUCH a show off! ;-)

Why?
I simply said that I have the Sony/CBS quadraphonic LP and it's one of the best versions I've ever heard.
