Super Mario Galaxy is widely renowned for taking Mario's typical upbeat tunes and incorporating it into a largely orchestrated setting. From the dynamic string sections, to the laxer woodwind ensemble, both soundtracks provide a fitting yet diverse sound throughout. While several tracks are synthetic, or involve synthetic tempos within the orchestra (such as SMG1's Overture by Koji Kondo), none of the music feels offbeat nor out of place. Nintendo has always prided themselves with top-notch musical production values, but Super Mario Galaxy easily stands out as one of their greatest greats.
