ABOUT THE DC RESTORATION SERIES
The DC Restoration Series is a series of scores that have been personally restored by me. This is the culmination of many months of research to find an audio restoration process to help decrease the dynamic range of the music by making the quiet parts louder without making the louder parts even louder.

Some people will disagree with my technique but I find the listening experience to be better since I can now hear the nuances of the orchestra to a greater degree. I watch the spectral frequency display while listening to each track in hopes to clean up all artifacts and remove as much hiss as possible. I've also EQed everything to add clarity to the music.

I can go on and on about process, but in the end, it is the final product that counts.

IDEAL WAY TO LISTEN TO THIS "REMASTERED" SERIES
For optimal listening enjoyment, listen with a flat EQ or minimal adjustments so that the higher frequencies aren't too crisp. This series of "remastered" works have been restored using flat-sounding studio monitors for optimal EQing and mastering.

Lots of people are telling me that they will compare with their original CD or whichever version they have but none have commented on how different (hopefully better) this version is in terms of listening experience. Hopefully when you get a chance you can give me your 2 cents on this so I have an idea if I am heading in the right direction. Thanks.

Yep, gotta say, bravo. Have listened to LOTF and Humanoids now and have to say, the audio seems crisper, more energetic and clearer. Maybe it's my ears - they're tired these days and not what they used to be, but these 'sonic upgrades' tunnel straight through my ear-bits and into my brain-whoopy-whoop reactor. Terrific stuff.

It's definitely louder. I'm not sure if that's an improvement (at least to my taste) as I prefer orchestral music to have a fuller range of dynamics. I can see this being an advantage in certain environments (like flying or driving) but I only listen to music at home with headphones. On the other hand, certain instruments feel crisper and more defined. I definitely appreciate your efforts and look forward to future releases (especially of scores I haven't heard yet).

Hi everyone. I'm asking the forum for advice. I have read the rules for the forum concerning what labels and music not to post, but as I continue this project, I am realizing very quickly a few issues:

- Though sending links via PM is a controlled way of doing things, it simply isn't efficient for large volumes of demands. Is there anything else I can do other than a direct link?

- As the project gets bigger, I am going to run out of online space very quickly. Any other suggestions/recommendations?

Unfortunately I don't have another version to compare it with. For what it's worth, it sounds crisp and clear to me, so I certainly have no complaints. But, most importantly, what a great soundtrack this is!

Hopefully, there'll be another album with more music available one day (see what happened with The Last Starfighter). The bootleg contains a number of tracks and takes I'd REALLY like to listen to in good (or at least better) quality!

And the maestro can't complain anymore about there being complete releases of his scores.

My source was lossless but while working with it, I started realizing that most instruments sound clear but others in the mix sound like something off a bootleg (especially the french horns... they sound awful, but trumpets sound OK... go figure). The artifacts could be from my expansion so if you have a specific track and time you can give me, I can go back and have a listen. Thanks.
