This is a Promotional CD for the upcoming Milan Records 2LP vinyl release of Basil Poledouris' score to Robocop (Artwork by Jay Shaw). It has the same tracklist as the Intrada release, but more importantly?...it sounds freaking awesome! No clipping, better separation and detail (in some parts you can even hear the metronome in the hall!). I've already pre-ordered two copies of the LP on the strength of this promo as it's clearly evident they've taken the time to cut it from a new (or at the very least improved) master.

Wow! Just normalized and converted to wav and burned it to a cd and listened to it cut-for-cut back-to-back with my Intrada version. Even with all my compromising the louder instruments are much louder, the softer instruments are much softer, they are even more separate and all of them are much rounder (if any of this makes any sense). The Intrada is a great sounding version, to be sure. Could live happily with it forever. This is an even more unctuous version, and it's just the cd promo. What will the vinyl sound like?? Wish I had a stereo system that would do vinyl justice.

Thank you for the Warp-speed reply :-) I�m looking forward to comparing this to the Intrada release. I always thought that Milan albums sounded a lot better than their counterparts. As complete as Intrada�s "Conan"-set may be the older album release by Milan sounds still far superior to me. Just listen to the groundshaking low-end on the Milan CD....all missing on Intrada. Milan will be releasing this album in the US on July 17th of this year
I hope it has the same artwork as the pictures by Mr.Merrick, the Amazon page displays a more 'traditional' image and there is no mention of the CD release on the Milan website (at least I haven't found it). But I pre-ordered anyway, we'll see when the snail mail arrives sometime in August. I hope Mr.Merrick can save me in the meantime :) (and he did.. thanks again :) )
