Kermit: Uh. If you please. Mr Scrooge... it's gotten colder. and the bookkeeping staff... would like to have an extra shovelful of coal for the fire.
Rat 1: We can't do the bookkeeping.
Rat 2: Yeah. All of our pens have turned to ink-cicles. Our assets are frozen!
Scrooge: How would the bookkeepers like to be suddenly.... UNEMPLOYED!
(Suddenly The Rats Appear to Be Dressed in Beach Ware)
Rats: Heatwave! This is my island in the sun
Kermit: I believe you've convinced them once again. Mr Scrooge"

What's sad, though, is that the Blu-ray doesn't have When Love is Gone ;_;
Really?? How Strange Thats One (If Not The) Most Important Points In The Film Its The Turning Point In Scrooge Beginning To Realise What He Could Of Had And May Have. How Stupid Not To Include It.

Lossless or otherwise, a superb share.
The Muppets Christmas Carol beats even the Alister Simms version, hands down.
The song on the bridge (and what I job I had to buy the DVD that hadn't edited that song out) brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it.
Many thanks indeed for this.

Hey.. there's a problem with the first track 01 Overture.m4a.. is it just me or the track's just plain corrupted? I tried downloading it again and the same thing happened..

It Plays Fine On Itunes, I Will Try Re-Upping That 1, Stand By.

I also brought my copy, last year via Amazon.co.uk, (region 1, containing both versions) and although the menu isn't very clear, it does actualy contain both versions in widescreen.

Thanks for the re-up of track 1 and also for the added scans. Appreciated.

There is no widescreen version of When Love Is Gone. Though it was part of the film until a very late stage, it was only re-added/dubbed/graded for the VHS release, which is why the 4:3 VHS version included as an extra on one of the R1 DVDs is the only digital copy of that scene. There's no good reason why they can't rebuild it in HD from newly scanned elements, but Disney don't seem keen on spending the money to do that. They redubbed the gap for the Bluray sound remix though, as a new attempt to heal the gash slightly, so it's clear they would like to do more about it than they've been budgeted to do.

It's a completely essential part of the film - thematically, dramatically, and from its remaining presence in the overture, its reprise at the end, and its pop version over the credits, and the film arguably doesn't really work without it... but utterly strictly speaking it's not officially part of the film. Blame Jeffrey Katzenberg and his artless obsession with demanding Disney cut the emotional centrepiece song out of every film he oversaw (When Love Is Gone and 'Human Again' from Beauty And The Beast met his scissors, and he fought aggressively to get rid of Part Of Your World and Can You Feel The Love Tonight as well, emotionless psychopath such as he was and is.)

My apologies, I appear to have got it wrong, (in the version I've got - can't speak for anyone else). I purposely got a region 1 disc, via Amazon.co.uk, because it specificaly stated in the reviews that both versions were on it, and even considered sending it back until I found the second version, in the setup menu which gave the option of 'Fullscreen' or 'Widescreen' (no indication of 2 versions - a bit confusing). Being a animation by all accounts I would have played the 'Fullscreen' version on a widescreen setting, as with animated characters It wouldn't have shown much of a difference but would appear as though it could've been widescreen.
Again my mistake. Having said that, I think we're all in agreement that the 'Missing Bridge' scene was an essential part of the telling of the story.
A superb film, and a memorable score. It had everything (well would've, had it included the missing scene) - a true family film, especially for Christmas time.

Oh, that version is definitely still the one to have - I'll take a 4:3 version over no version any day! :)

Not long ago I actually ripped the 'Full Screen' audio from the DVD (as I do with lots of films I like) and made it into mp3. It actually works as a radio type item. Dickens narrates a lot of the scenes and so the visual side of things are told. So long as there's not too much confusing action happening this works quite well.
Having downloaded from this thread I realised that the song 'Chairman of the Board' was also not in either of the two versions.
With the aid of Audition3 I've just now edited my mp3 film and put that song in where I thought it probably was earmarked to have been if it was going to be used.
Interesting to listen to as well to see if it sounded right.
Anyway, I ramble, but for anyone interested here's the link to my mp3(audio) radio offering of The Muppets Christmas Carol.

The blu-ray included the theatrical cut of the film, which did not include the song. It was cut at the last minute by the studio against the director's wishes.

Actually, it was released in widescreen on laserdisc. I agree that it's a shame it wasn't released intact on blu-ray.
