From the remake that rose the barr for all remakes, the spectacular Yamato 2199, come this equally spectacular soundtrack. Akira Miyagawa, composer and son of Hiroshi Miyagawa, the composer for the original series, has elevated his father's work to new heights, retooling what has always been one of the highlights of this classic anime, it's music, taking themes that have lived in the hearts of fans for over 38 years and making them sound fresh and innovative.


This score covers the entire score used on the latest entry of the 2199 saga, "Odyssey of the Celestial Ark". Taking place between the series' episodes 24 and 25, Odyssey shows us Yamato's first direct encounter with the forces of Gatlantis (The Comet Empire), as they are pursued by relentles Gatlantean general "Thunderclap" Goran Dagam, leader of an expeditionary force searching for a fabled lost planet. Seeing the opportunity to seize the power of Yamato to the emperor, Dagam strikes using his own deadly weapon, the "Firestorm Direct Strike Gun". Kodai takes commend and manages to evade with a desperate maneuver that lands the crew of Yamato on planet Shambleu, where not only are they faced with mysterious and all too familiar illusions, but also Fomto Berger, the only survivor of Domel's inner circle. Can Kodai and Berger put the long hatred between Earth and Garmillas aside and fight together against a common enemy?


The file contains the 38 tracks from the soundtrack CD, plus the karaoke version of the movie's end song "Great Harmony" and the special single "Muss I Denn". For a true complete and chronological movie score, put track 2 of this single (off vocal version) between CD tracks 4 and 5.
