Why do people think it's okay to take wonderful music like this and rap over it? It sounds horrible..

Honestly.
I believe the think people will like it more because its from said film and want to listen. They proberly also like said track and want to share there song and love of that track. Then again i could be wrong or stupid.

Not trying to sound mean or rude or anything but both of those sound pretty gross and sooooo dumb. I dunno how to master mix which makes me great at recognizing poorly mixed tracks. Agree with Mr Gold ^^ I reckon when these dudes heard the music for the first time it struck a nerve with them and they felt some kind of emotion and now they want to share that same feeling with everyone else. Like as if they chanced upon that piece of music and it spoke to them and them only, like as if those composers weren't able to conjure butterflies in everyone elses stomachs. GG

They rap because they can't sing.

Because they are living examples of why we can't have anything nice.

Also my biggest aggravation with rap/hip-hop is it has become so prevalent you just simply cannot get away from it.
Finally I never understood why white people adopt another races' cultural identity and pretend your something you are not.

Probably because they can do whatever they want and they don't care if you cry about it on the internet?

If this is your opinion, you pretty much also have to think that white people should never play rock and roll, blues or jazz in order to not be a hypocrite.

Why do you even care ? if it sucks, don't listen to it and get the goddamn score instead of going masochist.

Hey! Everyone has a right to their opinion, positive or negative.

Though I wholeheartedly agree about the first video, the second, while having a few lines too many that indulge in the trite, actually is way more listenable because he isn't forcing the vocal delivery like the douche in the first one did. Lyrically even, all its flaws notwithstanding, it's far better than a lot of dub poetry or pieces that usually get read at open slams. You could've picked a better example instead of n.2 :P

They rap because they can't sing.

That hardly makes rap an any less valid form of music, if that was the point you were trying to make. Not trying to pick a fight but it was kinda slightly platitudinous.

ps. I didn't even want to address the horrifying ignorance of Zoran's post which could easily preamble a "Mein Kampf for Dummies" if ever one were written... but dude, I mean it... that was horrifying and I shrieked a little when I read it in my mind.

they do it because they realized everyone raps. it's the lowest common denominator.
but since everyone raps, they need a "new approach".
just like when country started mixing with hip hop.

they also smoke too much weed so nothing more goes on their brains except to rap whenever they can.
by pure accident they were walking by someone who was playing film scores and they rubbed their boners together to try make a sensation.

Sure. Everyone also has a right to call everyone else's opinion bullshit.

Yeah! Any time you don't like something, the only way it can possibly have been conceived by anyone else is if they're on drugs, retarded, or a vile piece of filth who deserves to die. Thank god we've got people like you to be the arbiter of all that's legitimate in the world.

I like the concept of creating vocals for instrumental cues, however, I do not like the fact that he vocals
have absolutely nothing to do with the cues themselves. If you're going to use a theme from a movie, at
least make the vocals about the movie you're singing about, if you can even call rapping singing..

It also helps to be able to sing..

The short answer is they think it makes them cool.
