To be honest I'm only reading this thread because I was shocked to see this appear on here so fast. I don't intend on downloading it (I've never seen the film and not being a Williams collector I wouldn't have any connection to the music without hearing it in its context first, and I've just never been interested in seeing the film anyway) and therefore I don't plan to purchase it, but I did purchase "Searching for Bobby Fischer", because I have very good memories of buying the original album so getting an expansion is like an old friend returning.

I buy two of everything. One to play, one to keep sealed because I'm weird like that, but lately releases appear here so fast that I only get one so I guess La-La-Land partially lost out. The Bobby Fisher album I didn't get because I never saw the film, but I love A.I.

Really enjoy very early Williams (through Jaws) and relatively later Williams (post-Korngold/Saturday morning matinee) Williams. Is the score worth it?
Worth $40? Heck yes. We didn't get this for free, well we did. But, La-La Land works very hard on their releases, and when money's good, I definitely plan on ordering this baby.

I don't know. I didn't like the album before but this complete edition is even more not my thing. Though i am glad that For Always plays a much more minor role in the score than it does on the actual soundtrack (I usually like this sort of thing but it sounds cheesy especially when the vocals are part of it) I found it to be too bleak as a whole. A lot of the material that was not released previously seems to me to be more depressing than interesting. Yes there is a certain beauty to a few tracks but I can't imagine listening to this full soundtrack again. I don't think it is poorly written but it is quite dark and it seems most of the more beautiful stuff was already on the album before. And of course I am overgeneralizing but I am glad that I didn't blindly order it. And based on the ridiculously short samples La La Land puts up the only way to determine if this is worth picking up is to download it.
