Hey guys, I was wondering what the Weapons really are and what impact they have on the game. I mean i beat Ruby and Emerald Weapon and I am not asking for strategy. I read somewhere that the Weapons helped imprisonJenova. So just a general discussion on the Weapons (not their attacks their purpose) All right lets rock!

I know the game has a lot of problems with the story and all, but didn't it flat out tell you this

If you paid attention to the story, then you would have known that the Weapons were made by the planet in order to protetect itself from any harm the inhabitants could possibly do. So when Sephiroth started threatening the whole planet the Weapons arose in order to stop him from casting meteor and destroying the planet.

They are also a good challenge to try and beat, which adds a little something to the game.

They're not really that tough though (I say not really in comparison to other FF Bosses *cough* Trema *cough*). I thought Ruby and Emerald were easy compared to him

Yeah..Trema was a bitch to beat..but it was also a good challenge

The actual purpose of WEAPONS is to rturn spirit energy to the Planet, which is why they go on a killing rampage, uopn humans. The Planet needs the spirit energy to heal the wound caused by Jenova, when it came and practically wiped out the Cetra. In other words, the wound is the Northen Crater.

Yea, well I playe dthis game 6 years ago heh and I beat them easy. I just forgot most of the story and wanted to know why I had to fight them if they were supposed to help protect the planet. But since we destroyed all the Weapons what happens now?

Yes the weapons are not bad although they attack you. They will kill anything in their path to protect to planet from loosing any spirit energy. I find it the coolest (how they look, act, how you see them on the world map, etc.) that they added them to the story line

The weapon underwater is REALLY hard LOL

ok, now i'm not stpuid or I don't have intentions of being so (though it seems I am), but I have beaten the other weapons but Ruby. I constantly hear or read, that that was one of the easiest weapons, I have also heard that in order to beat it you can use knights of the round, and we all know they kick ass. But I did that & still there was no damage done. I this instance I am confused.

Ruby's arms have to in the sand, then you can damage him, I leave the rest for you to figure out cause it ain't that hard...

I wish the other FF's had huge hulking monsters like FF7
They are one of the best things in FF7

Ruby is the only one i haven't been able to kill. :-(

What I don't get is if the weapons are to protect the earth then why don't they kill sephoroth and why would you wan't to kill earths protectors?

Well the weopon attacking midgar did turn round to get sepiroth but was smashed up by that big gun.

I agree with Death to cloud, why would you want to kill the earth's protectors? I would just stay clear of them. Because they are big and strong.

thinns like side quests & wut not bud, u got nothin else to do, u'r all powerful & the only required thing in the game is to fight Sephiroth, y not do somethin else, obtain other stuff. Like Clouds ultimate weapon, u can get that from destroying.......Ultimate Weapon. Which actually was the easiest weapon to fight. Desert Rose from Ruby, I guess if u'r bored.

Um no, the weapons' purpose is to protect the planet and Midgar is taking Lifestream away from the planet so it has to destroy that threat. And to replenish the lost energy due to mako, they have to kill people. Bugenhagen says we 'return to planet when we die'. the weapons just speed up that process. Also, they fought Cloud's party because (if you look at it) you always provoked the fight. You ran into Diamond, Emerald , Ultima got chased down with the Highwind, Sapphire was just trying to kill the cannon which was stealing lifestream (poor guy got his head blown off) and Ruby was just chiling in his pond of sand when you said, "COMe FIGht Me BIACH!"
